   First, valet parking was $20! We went for brunch. Overall, the food was very good, especially the fried lobster and biscuits. But, I didn't appreciate the "nickel and diming" of the menu. All the sides were a la carte, and somewhat confusing. Free refills on coffee, but NOT on tea so my wife was charged $12 for tea. There was a protein listed as "Seafood $5." I asked for that but server charged me individually for shrimp, crab, and crawfish which equaled $15! When I reminded the server that was my FIRST question about the menu and he had said "that includes shrimp, crab, and crawfish" he denied that was his answer and told me I was mistaken. I told him I couldn't have possibly been clearer in my question. His view: I was wrong. Which leads to my final point: service staff was very nice, yet inflexible. Upon arrival we asked to be moved to the 1st floor (which was empty) but they said no because of prior reservations. At no time during our meal were those tables filled. Prior to food arrival, we asked to cancel an order of potatoes. Server said yes, but they brought it out a few minutes later anyway. Wouldn't take it off the check. On every misunderstanding on the menu and price, they made no accomodation in our favor. I will not be back

   This is such a tucked away gem in Memphis! The food, service, and view was fantastic.

   I would not suggest seating at the High-top seating. If you are going for drinks only then table would be fine but still small. High top seating wouldn’t be for dinning Table too small for drinks n food

   This was the worst experience ever! We made reservations a month in advance. Our seating was not the best along with a couple who was celebrating their anniversary and another couple celebrating the husbands birthday. We all requested a change but the request was only granted to one couple because the wife said she “write reviews for yelp” The other couple left in disgust. 2 other couples after us requested to move and both Ms request was granted. We spoke to 3 different managers and give 3 different excuses. Our food didn’t arrive til 1.5 hours later. All other people that arrive at 5 had eaten and left. My friend’s, the birthday girl, steak was rare and she requested medium well. The lamb chops were tough. We asked for napkins and condiments and never got them. The last manager comped some beignets and we didn’t even touch them. Our bill was wrong. So disappointed cause I love the other Mahogany. This has deterred me from frequenting either ever again.

   It was nice, and the ambiance was cool. It took a little minute for the server to come over. BTW: Jared was really sweet. However, the presentation was nice but the food was really bland. I had a medium well steak, and it was running too much for my liking. My friend ordered his well done, and he seemed to enjoy it until he came across a piece that tasted like soap, which, through the mood off. Hopefully, if I decide to visit again, the experience will be better.

   Overall, the experience could have been a lot better. For the $238 I spent for a nice dinner, I felt like I could have had a much grander experience at other restaurants. The discerning experience began upon arriving at the restaurant and talking to security at the checkpoint. Asking in a cold and authoritative tone if I had a reservation, what time, and my name. It felt like being "processed" to visit an inmate in prison. Another glaring area of concern was being served a bottle of red wine in a champagne chilling bucket with champagne flutes. I had to request the wine not be chilled and wine glasses. The waitress brought back cognac snifters. After ordering and waiting an hour to receive food, I have to say it was hot and delicious. There was some confusing dialogue with the waitress about what items on the menu were available. If I return, I may try lunch or an early dining time during the week. The late weekend crowd resembled a nightclub/lounge customer base.

    Great food and ambience with beautiful views of the river. Nice place to celebrate an occasion or take guests from out of town.
