    We were seated at a beautiful oceanside table where we had a gorgeous view of the sun setting over the island of Lanai. We ordered the whole fried opakapaka and it was outstanding! Moist and delicious, served over rice and stir-fried veggies. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive and we really enjoyed his company. He was nice enough to school us on what to do with the fish. All in all, a perfect evening. 🥰

    Mala Tavern is a favorite! My friend was visiting me from Oregon and she was so happy they made it through the fire. We had a nice lunch with wonderful service and the best ocean view table! Many Mahalo's!

    Great food and service! We were seated 1 table in from the door which created not the best ambiance. Would highly recommend eating here, though!

    The food was quite gloppy. Cocktails are not good. We could not get our server’s attention for a glass of wine, so went up to the bar ourselves. Not a big deal, it was busy, but Mala just isn’t as good as previous years.

    I would not go back to sit inside with the singing guitar player who was so loud in the restaurant we couldn’t even have a conversation at the table. The food and service is great.

    Great spot on the water with a relaxed vibe. The food is simply delicious! From the tuna to the calamari - excellent. Drinks were creative and spot on too. Highly recommend.

    We have eaten at Mala numerous times over the past years, and always had excellent meals. But the dinner we had today was below standard. My pan fried mahi mahi ($39) was thin and over cooked. My wife had the ribeye steak ($52) which was chewy.
