This is a beautiful place to stay and we had a wonderful breakfast there, but unfortunately our dinner at the Inn was disappointing. A pork chop entree has so much gristle it was impossible to eat and the shrimp etouffee was disappointing and although served over quinoa instead of the typical rice, why in the world was it also served with mashed potatoes and carrots. A simple side of a green vegetable would have been much more appropriate

We had a wonderful meal! Crab stuffed fish, chicken piccata and goat cheese fritters. The apple cobbler and carrot cake were divine. A charming restaurant which harkens back to the 1700s.

I was coming from out of town to celebrate my mother's birthday and was looking for a place that served Sunday brunch. Between us all, we have several dietary restrictions but finding items we could eat at Mansion House wasn't an issue. We started with mimosas, which were made with freshly squeezed orange juice and were perfectly balanced with the champagne/oj ratio. My husband had the generous plate of french toast, which he really enjoyed, and a side of bacon, which was unfortunately, a bit overcooked. My mother had the eggs Benedict, which she said were delicious, and I had the Crabby Patty, deconstructed. Asking to forgo the bun and side of potatoes seemed to stump the kitchen a bit, as they still served the potatoes and the accouterments you would put on it to make it a handheld sandwich. But the crab cake was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked and the applesauce was delicious and super smooth. Our server was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and after our meal, one of the owners gave us a brief history of the tavern and gave us a quick tour of the other spaces that comprise this beautiful historic building. The atmosphere in the Eisenhower room was very light and bright and we felt encouraged to linger and enjoy our meal. It was a lovely dining experience and the perfect spot for our celebration. I highly recommend Mansion House and would love to have dinner here, the next time we're in town visiting.
