Mary Carroll's opened it's doors on March 27th 1997, by proprietor Conor Hartnett from Limerick, Ireland. Conor moved to New York when he was 25 to pursue the American Dream. He worked as a carpenter, a painter, an artist, and fatefully a busboy come bartender ( for Lily Flannagan's . Where he met his wife Andrea, the unsung hero of Mary Carroll's. Five years later his dream came true, when he bought a dump in Babylon Village, and set about turning a pigs ear into a silk purse. A lot has been done in 23 years, but Conor considers it a life long project to try and attain the perfect pub.

He started by naming the Pub after his mother Mary, who is alive and well, living in Ireland at the proud age of 89 ( don't call her 90 :). The physical transformation of Mary Carroll's has been extensive, but is still going on to this day. It is living and breathing and Full of life with a loyal following that has built up over many years.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! We didn't even stay to eat. We sat at a table and the music was SO LOUD!!! Unbelievable LOUD. We scanned and opened the menu which was very limited and after 15 minutes of sitting there and not even an acknowledgement from the wait staff we got up and walked out. The place was NOT crowded at all. Would NEVER GO BACK!! HORRIBLE.

Great pub in town. You have no service right now so you have to the bar for your drinks and food but very organized. Great food, generous portions. I loved the atmosphere but may be loud for some! Fun night out!
