   It has been more than 1 year since we have dined at Mastros and we decided to treat ourselves over the holidays. It was an absolutely fantastic experience as always. The ambiance, food and service were excellent. We had the 22 oz ribeye, 10 oz A5 wagyu NY strip, 3 pound lobster special and mushrooms. They were all delicious. The service by Nick, Gabriel and crew were excellent. I highly recommend Mastros and we will back again.

   Top notch service. Dungeness crab cocktail and all drinks excellent. Steaks and lamb cooked perfectly and so tender. Personalized birthday menu truly specialized touch. Only minor drawback, just a bit loud to hear dinner conversation.

   So, a gorgeous setting. Would have thought we’d be in the main Room with a 5 pm reservation , not the enclosed patio. Great Martinis. Thought they would have more main dish fish selections ( it is called Ocean Club Mastro’s), the salmon was excellent but hoped for Char or something slightly off beat. Wait staff was superb. For $400 I hoped for more. Will hit the Thousand Oaks Mastro’s from now on

   Wow! What an absolutely incredible experience at Mastro’s Ocean Club - Malibu. I had heard some mixed reviews of service in the past, but the new GM, Rob Lacey, must have really turned it around because my family and myself were blown away. The service was impeccable, and our server, Casey, was fantastic. I need to meet the chef because the food was perfect in every way, and we tried a little of everything. My family had been visiting for the holidays, and we had very nice, expensive meals around LA and SD. But this one quite literally took the [butter] cake. My father even said this was the best meal of the trip by far, and it wasn’t nearly as pricey as some of the other dinners we had. Not only was the ambiance, service and food top notch, but the view was also spectacular! I will absolutely be returning…frequently, even though it’s quite out of the way for me. They even had the cutest little piano player/singer, who sounded so good that, when my brother asked if the music was live, I quickly shot back that this was studio quality and no way it could be live before realizing it was, in fact, live. On top of the GM stopping by our table, I saw him make and effort to approach every single table in the restaurant, which was quite busy considering the time of year. 10/10 recommend

   the food was great, however on christmas day expect to wait despite having a reservation and the ambiance quite loud. the live music was a nice touch, but it was too loud to the point where we are yelling at our server in order for us to hear him. overall, our food was great and server was attentive.

   One of our favorite places and a tradition for Christmas Day. My husband is an oyster lover and he says it’s the best place for East coast oysters. Their steaks are always perfect and the service is excellent even when the place is mobbed! We highly recommend this particular Mastro’s. You won’t regret the experience.

    Overall excellent Christmas dining experience; however, there is definitely a trade-off on dining comfort for the amazing ocean view. The tables were placed way too close together - and the ambient music was unnecessarily loud to the point of making conversation nearly impossible.
