   It was our first time there celebrating our wedding anniversary. Customer service was excellent. And our food was not disappointing. We will be back.

   As expected, the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the 12 oz filet I ordered was not tender, possibly because it was overcooked. I did ask for medium plus but I've never had a filet at Mastro's that was so difficult to cut. It wasn't just dry, because I like a dry steak. The quality of the filet was just poor and not worth the cost, which was $360 for 2 of us. I didn't object at the time because we were already late for our show at the South Coast Repertory. Very disappointing.

   We were here to celebrate a birthday. Staff were nice. Drinks took a long time to prepare. They missed a strip of bacon on one of my drinks, which they brought out later when I was halfway into the drink, and then they offered extra bacon for the mistake. Instead of offering another drink. We were baffled. Also, steaks were dry without much taste. As far as ambience, it was loud and felt crowded. We expected more for the price point. We will avoid this location in the future.

   Seated promptly, great waiter by the name of Brandon who was very busy and a bit slow with service but he really pushed to get things done that we were waiting on such as bread, drinks and sides. Food was delicious and as you would expect expensive, but it’s still a great value due to the oversized portions.

During our recent visit, we savored the 20 oz ribeye, cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and rich flavor. The accompanying broccoli was fresh and well-prepared, making for a delightful pairing. To kick off our evening, we enjoyed some delicious espresso martinis, which were a perfect blend of bold coffee flavors and smooth spirits. We also sampled a few other delightful cocktails from their impressive menu, each crafted with care and creativity, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal-the lemon martini is a must. The service at Mastro's truly stood out. The lead bartender, Iggy, was attentive and knowledgeable, as always, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was seamless. Devon also contributed to the impeccable service with a warm smile and prompt attention to our needs. We appreciated the personal touch from manager Andy, who took the time to check in on us throughout the evening. The atmosphere at Mastro's is vibrant yet sophisticated, making it an ideal setting for special occasions and casual dinners. The elegant decor and lively ambiance create a welcoming environment that enhances the overall experience. If you haven’t been, you must. Mastro's Steakhouse in Costa Mesa is a culinary gem. With its expertly prepared steaks, delightful cocktails, and exceptional service from Iggy, Devon, and Andy, it’s a place where you can enjoy a memorable night out—highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience!
