   My first dining experience at Mastro's was exceptional. The atmosphere, the service, the menu and food quality have bumped Mastro's to my favorite.

   We had a great dinner experience for our anniversary! Service was amazing and attentive, atmosphere was a vibe, food was BEYOND delicious! Will definitely be going back!

   We celebrated my daughter's 23rd birthday here, and they had special menus printed with a happy birthday message to her. It was a lovely surprise! The food was delicious, the sommelier assisted with a lovely selection of wine, and the staff was very attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. It was a lovely evening. Foods we enjoyed: rack of lamb, filet, chef's cut, and for sides, the lobster mac n cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, sauteed spinach, broccolini and mushrooms. The sides are quite generous in portions, so we definitely has leftovers, but we just couldn't decide!

   Everything including the ribeye steaks were greasy. Brussels sprouts were huge. They were super greasy and salty on the outside, some not cooked on the inside but some are soft on the inside. Not your usual roasted Brussels sprouts served at restaurants. Creamed spinach was super heavy too. Surprisingly, the white cheddar mac & cheese my son ordered was the lightest item on the table. All sides were huge in portion but nothing good. The 32 oz ribeye steaks were huge and not the usual steaks served in restaurants either. They looked and tasted super greasy and charred. Not tender, not with good flavors unfortunately. The service was slow and not attentive, even there were a good few managers walking around talking to each other. We were surrounded by kids and toddlers and baby who were throwing fries on the floor and running around noisily. They called to confirm reservation on the day and informed us about the dress code, but the people who are there were wearing all kind of casual apparels including sandals and athletic outfits. There was a person at the piano singing but the piano was hooked up to an iPad playing music. I wasn’t sure if he was actually playing music. Again, not the kind of piano music we would expect. They did note that we were celebrating a birthday but I guess they no longer print name out on the menu? It just says “Happy Birthday”. They did offer us a free birthday dessert - a slide of cheesecake with berries and a huge bowl of whipped cream, which was very nice. Overall, the experience was disappointing and will not consider returning. My stomach still feels funny because of the grease I ate. We ended up boxing more than 50% of the greasy steaks and sides home. Maybe I will eat them with a huge bowl of salad tomorrow.

   This visit - We sat in the second floor open dining area- it was very nice - the right amount of noise with the live entertainment audible but not overwhelming. Frances was an amazing server. The food was amazing as always !

    We sat down at a 7:30pm registration and ordered drinks at the table. Before we got our drinks we were asked what we wanted to order for dinner, which we were not ready to order yet. Dinner and service was good after that until 9:30pm when the staff obviously wanted to go home and cleared one of our diners plates before they had even cut into the steak. When we went to get our car from the valet, the car service had left at 10pm and we couldn’t get our keys. The security guard said we would have to come back in the morning. This is unacceptable for a restaurant where I just spent $1000 for dinner. The restaurant and valet could have easily worked together to leave my keys at the reception desk. I will not be going back to a Mastro’s when the expectation is you just pay absorbent prices to be rushed out the door and then have your car held hostage.
