Mathilde French Bistro is a quintessential French Bistro in the SOMA area of San Francisco. A cozy main dinning room and romantic patio room which is covered and heated, allowing year round dining.
The cuisine is traditional bistro faire, with its voted best in town French onion soup, baked escargots and duck confit. Soon as you set foot at Mathilde, you will feel like you are back in Paris.
Mathilde Bistro is also the sister restaurant of L'ardoise Bistro.

We went to dinner yesterday to have a final meal and say farewell to a wonderful restaurant that we've been going to for 20 years. The restaurant is slated to close December 31st. We will miss it greatly!

It is closing, but it was an outstanding meal for a very reasonable price. Go to their sister restaurant it should be just as tasty!

We are sad that Mathilde is closing down. We just had our last diner here and as always it was outstanding! Cannot wait to dine again to their sister restaurant L’Ardoise! See you soon and thank you for the amazing diner.

The best French food in the Bay Area!! Highly recommend the mussels and steak frites, but everything is delicious.

Another excellent meal at Mathilde! The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the escargot was yummy. We are sad to hear they it will be closing. We have many great memories there.

Such a consistent, delicious and reasonably priced place in SOMA. So sad to see it close, but happy that it was great little part of my neighborhood for so long.
