   The olives and bread are very good although on a $200+ meal w wine one might expect those to be comped but margins are tight so ok. The filet was very good as was the burrata. The salmon was undercooked for my wife's taste not a kitchen problem, maybe server's should ask about temperature preference as with meat. First server was a wee bit stuffy overall at first, particularly regarding menu adaptations but she thawed quickly and her service was fine.The second server Elizabeth, who took over as first server was at end of shift was introduced by first server and was spectacular.The chocolate mousse and the chocolate gelato were very good. Overall quite good we will return and you all should try it and tip well.

   The food was amazing, I had the Tuna Tartare, followed by the Bucatini Amatriciana and the the Veal Chop special, for dessert I had the Panna cotta. My Waitress/Server “Brenda” was very attentive, professional & knowledgeable about every course that I was served & provided me with a great glass of wine to compliment every course I had. Overall a great experience, well worth the price! Kudos to Matteo and his staff!!!👍👍

   Matteo’s has become one of our favorite go-to restaurants when in Salt Lake City. The food is always delicious, the service friendly, and the owner comes around to say hello, maybe even sing :) The new location downtown is beautiful.

   Our 6 year old grandson joined us and his comment sums up our visit: “I didn’t know people would be so nice at dinner.” Or server was excellent and fun, the food fantastic, my wife had ravioli, I had Cioppino and our grandson had buttered noodles, and half of the seafood in my Cioppino. The bread service was excellent and we really enjoyed gelato for dessert. Fun night.

   What a beautifully appointed restaurant. Our meals and selections of Italian wines were stellar. Our server, Seth, was the exact kind of server you would like during your visit. He was knowledgeable about his Italian Wines, the menu too, and delightfully friendly! The desserts were gorgeous! Thank you, Nonna!

   My mom and I shared the Caesar salad and pasta with vodka sauce. The salad was so good and the pasta was perfectly cooked. Our waiter Max was very kind and helpful. We also each ordered glasses of the Chianti and I was pleasantly surprised for the size of the pour compared to other restaurants we have been to in town.

    Lovely yet aspects uninspiring. I ordered a Brunello Di Montalcino - overpriced for a mediocre version. It was … fine. A less than spectacular 2018 Brunello that American distributors parse out. Seeing the Caesar salad featured anchovies, I ordered it. It was a disappointment for an Italian restaurant with a Brunello o. It’s wine list. The romaine was chopped small and drowned in bland/blah dressing. They anchovies did add some zip but otherwise the luscious tangy experience I was expecting was instead a roadhouse version of a Caesar salad with equally bland, though crispy, croutons. There was also enough to serve 5 people. I also ordered a medium rare fillet. It was cooked appropriately if a bit on the medium side. It was presented beautifully on a bed of sautéed spinach and a scatter of micro greens and shaved Parmesan. This was tasty and unctuous. If the salad and Brunello had matched this entree in excellence, I would have raved. So a miss twice and a hit once. I might return and try the ciopino. I won’t venture the mundane Caesar again.
