Meat & Greet BBQ started in 2019, where initially we sold uncooked meats which had been seasoned with spice blends from all across the world. The Covid pandemic saw the business begin to grow rapidly – with us delivering our high-quality meats all around the clock, direct to customer’s doors and helping people in need to get food they required.

In 2021, many of our customers were asking us to add a street food element to the business so that our delicious meats could be enjoyed on the go. With Lee having an existing passion for being behind the grill; already owning several BBQs and cooking outdoors on them all year-round. Using the best cuts of meat, seasoned with fresh blends of herbs & spices cooked over local lump wood charcoal, Meat & Greet BBQ came alive in the summer 2021. 18 months down the road we have one of the best reputations in East Anglia, not only for BBQing but as a distinguished street food vendor.

Get booked in for our first ever “Wine and Dine” night in Whiting Street, where Ed from Hallgarten Wines will be discussing our exclusive wine list whilst you sample a selection, as well as enjoy a 5 course feast to accompany it. Please see below for details of the 5 course set menu and chosen wines: Arrival: Toast of sparkling rose “La Folio” along with appetisers of halloumi fries with a drizzle of sweet chilli, chimichurri olives and smoked, pork shoulder sliders. Starters: “Macon” Chardonnay with charred paprika corn ribs and buttermilk chicken wings with honey chipotle sauce. Salad: “Pinot Noir, Yering Station” paired with a fresh, mixed salad with a basil and zest dressing and a honey chilli, Suffolk red pork tomahawk. Main: “Malbec, Andeluna” our most popular wine served with a trio of tasting steaks (sirloin, ribeye & fillet) with rosemary salted fries and hot honey padron peppers. I have to say I was alittle disappointed overall. There had been lots of hype about the new place and decided to choose it for my stag meal. Unfortunately, I found the food to be nothing special and the ribs very tough. I also found it very expensive at £50 for ribs a small portion of chips and two bottles of beer. Nice venue and friendly staff however, we did have to ask for service a couple of times. Overall OK but won't be rushing back.

We went for the Sunday barbecue platter for two. The food was absolutely superb. The staff were exemplary. Only downside was it was quite empty. They were only us two and another couple in the whole restaurant. Maybe £50 for two people for Sunday dinner is a little expensive. Especially if you have a couple of drinks on top too.

We had to wait an hour and half before we were served any food. We were informed that they were short staffed, when the food eventually arrived. If we had known when we got to the restaurant we would have gone somewhere else, but we didn’t get the opportunity.
