    Food was incredible! The steak Dianne was delicious! Best martini, too. But while the food was truly great, it was the hospitality and warmth of everyone there made it a really special experience!

    Melvyn’s is usually a top. notch experience but last night was sadly disappointing. I had reserved our table and time with an alert about my food allergies. When we were seated our waiter was brusque and unwelcoming. Without mentioning our dietary concerns he rushed us with our order without afreiendly welcome. What would you like for dinner? We of course ordered our favorite cocktail to be enjoyed with a shrimp cocktail. Our waiter then disappeared with a busboy dropping ourshrimpcocktail on the table with know side plates for us to enjoy it and our drinks complete ly forgottenMIA. Epic fail. The waiter continued to dissapoint with a rude table side manner and was not particularly reassuring when I asked about dietary concerns due to celiac. To finilze errors our filet order was mixed up with my medium rare given to my dini g companion and I the medium which we did not realize u till we were halfway into it. Not sure why things went so south. It was not that busy. An apology and a comped bill would of been appreciated.

    Restaurant is nice and has old school charm. Food is good but not great...the risotto was extremely salty, the Ceasar salad just average, now the seabass....the menu says Seabass...but the waiter said it was Chilean seabass...a little difference...so maybe the menu should say that? I love Chilean Seabass...regular Seabass is good but different texture so I was confused as to why a restaurant like this one wouldn't be more specific? Then bread basket is $10 ...most fine dining includes some bread for free...not here. The entertainment was horrible, the singer sounded like she was auditing for Disney movie, just awful ..they need more of a Jazz singer or so ...the best part is when the singer took a break....now that was "music" to my ears...no pun intended 😜 Overall not a bad restaurant but not sure if I would nece6want to dine there again.

    The atmosphere was excellent and the food was very good, although for the price point, it really should have been better. There were no food items to complain about, but neither were there any to rave about. The most disappointing part of the evening was the service. Once our food order was taken, our server never returned to the table until we finally asked someone else to get our check from him. We had hoped to look at a dessert menu, but waited so long that we decided to pay and go home instead.

    We visited Melvyn’s 10 years ago and had a wonderful experience. Last night’s experience was truly underwhelming. For the prices and reputation the service and engagement was non existent (except for the wonderful cocktail server in the bar). The food was extremely expensive for the quality and presentation. Which was almost shocking and embarrassingly sparse and unceremonious. We won’t return and are sad to see such a quaint setting truly resting on its laurels and charging premium pricing for a mediocre or less experienced.

    nothing special. food was mediocre at best. took 10 plus minutes to get a waiter after being seated despite the restaurant feeling relatively empty.

    We celebrated Father’s Day and the French onion soup was delicious, the steaks were over cooked and the martinis were very small. We waited awhile between courses. Not our favorite place in Palm Springs.
