Mercado Central brings beautiful market produce to your plate. Inspired by Spain’s historic markets and restaurants, we source high quality, seasonal ingredients and celebrate the flavours of our Spanish heritage. Set in an historic, Cambridge townhouse, you can enjoy a casual lunch at the open kitchen or a special dinner in the upstairs dining rooms.

Our suppliers are specialist, small scale operations, whose good practices ensure sustainable and high welfare produce, while all our bread is made onsite by Jose and the team!

Very good restaurant but was slightly disappointed to find its not actually a tapas restaurant. Had booked a table for two and we were give a lovely table on the first floor by the window. The waitress was very polite and helpful but we found the menu a bit limited, without a selection of tapas. The starters weren’t particularly great but both our main courses were excellent and and good drinks as well. The atmosphere was nice inside. And very reasonable price. Would definitely go again next time in Cambridge.

We love Spanish food, we go to Spain every year. We really were looking forward to have one in Cambridge. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. Tapas was quite nice however the winter tomatoes salad was not what suppose to be. It should’ve been made from Black Iberico tomatoes which are my favourite but it was only one piece of it and the rest some cheap sour tomatoes. On the other hand I noticed that the table next to us received the right one so I don’t understand the reason for that. My sons had a steak which was extremely chewy and our fish course some of it was cold. Definitely not worth the money we spent.

Fantastic service and food. This restaurant was recommended by a colleague and honestly, I would recommend to all friends and family. I cannot wait to return to Cambridge just to dine here again. Loved it

Wonderful place in the historical heart of Cambridge We’ve enjoyed staying for lunch at Mercado Central, strongly recommended for those who values Spanish cousin.
