   I've been to Mercat occasionally for about a decade. The ambience is always a draw. The food was mediocre. They could use a refresh of the menu and perhaps the recipes. While it's listed as a Bistro, it seems to be light on menu options. For a Saturday night at 7 it was largely empty.

   I have been here twice. The food is amazing. The first time we went it was very cold and they put us in the overflow room which was beyond freezing. They kept leaving doors open as the bustled in and out. Our server was excellent but the head hostess was less than friendly so much so the server suggested we write a review as others had problems in the recent past as well. Went again yesterday. Sat in main dining area, we were only one of three tables in the restaurant. Our server could not answser basic questions and barely came to check on us. We had to get up to get the check and ask for two items throughout our meal. Very stingy on the wine pour considering the price per glass.

   We love this place. Lovely brunch and the cocktails are great too.

   Celebrating New Year’s Eve at Mercat was the perfect way to end a good year & bring in the New! Our server Oscar was great!

   Service was very sub par but the polar bear room was beautiful. I was unfortunate disappointed with the overall experience. Server was nice but unfortunately had no idea how to serve a big party. No one really came to help her and it didn’t feel very special as we had hoped it to be.

   I love the food at Mercat but we booked the Pilar Bear room and I didn’t realize it was in the lobby of the office building attached to Mercat. The Polar Bears were cute but barely came on to sing and it was soooooooo quiet. It just made the ambiance boring. After the bears sang, generic lobby music would come on and it was just cold and boring environment. The trees were beautiful but they need to re-think making this cozier and more lively. It wasn’t THAT special and I would’ve preferred being in the regular restaurant. Then, they were out of oysters AND muscles and it was only 7:00 pm. Service was slow. Disappointment

   Terrible. The food came out cold. The service took such a long time and the manager had to comp much of the bill which is why I’m even leaving a 2 rating.

    Such a fun experience with my new grand baby and family. Food and service was perfect. I had not been there for dinner in a long time and have forgotten how delicious the food is there. Short ribs and salmon were amazing. My family members had the chicken and said it was the best they had ever had. Thanks mercat for the perfect ending to our Christmas holiday.
