The experience was not very good. The food was OK. The lasagna was way way too cheesy. The chicken scarp I had was nothing like I’ve ever seen before with the lack of broccoli Rabe and sausage. It was very poor. My wife and our friend had rigatoni and it had absolutely no taste at all. My wife’s friend had a piece of hair, a long piece of hair in her food when she was transferring it to the to go container and we mentioned it to the waitress she brought it to the managers attention and the manager told us well it wasn’t any of our hair cause the cooks all have short hair and this was a long piece of hair, not really the way to handle that situation. They remove the cost from the bill, but that was not the point.

Second time here - food was plentiful and very good . Our waitress Sarah was very personable and friendly . A surprisingly busy Monday night but all was well with our dinner & service !

We were a party of 5, 2 of the party enjoyed their lunches completely, they had the chicken scarpariello and the gnocchi's and they said they were delicious. One of the party had the Butternut Squash Risotto and was very disappointed, she said there was no flavor. The other member of our party had the Potato/bacon pizza and didn't taste the potato, which could mean that there were only a few, but she did like the pizza. I had the porkchop saltambocca and it was cooked to perfection, but i didn't taste the garlic, cheese or prosciutto, so that was a little disappointing. We did enjoy ourselves and we weren't rushed. Our server was great and patient with us.

We arrived on time and were told that there was a party and the only place we could have dinner was up a long flight of steps. I am disabled and couldn’t go up the very long flight of steps. We should have be notified that there was a party on the main level prior to driving a distance to the restaurant. We said we would go to the bar for a drink and was told the the bar is up the long flight of stairs as well. Whoever designed this needed to give that some thought. People drinking don’t need a long flight of steps down to leave. We decided to leave and go to a restaurant down the street.

This was our first time to Mercato. We consider ourselves foodies and this restaurant fired on all cylinders. A couple of highlights from our visit were the Grilled Lamb Chop Lollipops and Ricotta Toast appetizers, both were amazing. For entrees we had the NY Strip(grilled to perfection), the Short Rib(melted in our mouths) and the Ricotta Gnocchi with Short Rib Ragu as a shared pasta for the table(to die for). As those might have been the food highlights, the actual highlight of the afternoon was our server Ariel. She made us feel as if we had known her for years and became part of our dining experience. It was Ariel’s idea to have the Gnocchi entree as a shared pasta for the table because we really wanted to try it but had our minds set on the entrees we ordered(phenomenal idea Ariel!!) We can’t wait to return again! Kudos to Mercato and their impeccable staff!! Well done!!
