   We picked this place out of the blue. We came from RI and met family from NY that were staying in Dartmouth for the weekend. Food was excellent, service was great too. The bar area is kind of open to the dining area and when it was busy, it was loud. We were there at 7 and about 8:15 is when the bar area noise was at a normal level. Highly recommend and would go back again. It was worth the drive from RI.

   Food wasn’t good even second time around and our waitress didn’t check in on how our meals were going after it came out cold if it came out hot would’ve been good but green beans were mushy and the rice was the only good part

   Our waitress started off great, but as she got busier, the service fell apart. We were not asked if we wanted dessert, coffee of another cocktail. We sat for 15 minutes after we were finished our meal before we were asked about the check. The lights in the dining room stayed on bright all night instead of being dimmed

   I had called twice to make sure they could do a desert for my boyfriend for his birthday and nothing ever happened ….. that would be my only complaint

   Hi Katie, Thank you for taking the time and sharing your review with us and happy belated birthday to your boyfriend. We made the note for the dessert in your reservation and notified the staff. For birthday requests we have the server ask the guests if they would like any dessert and if so, which dessert they would prefer. The kitchen prepares the dessert with a candle and happy birthday lettering and the staff sings happy birthday to the guest. By asking our guest of their dessert preference we are able to serve our guests with not only their favorite dish but it also helps us to identify any potential food allergies or restrictions. When the server asked about dessert and it was declined we assumed that you had changed your mind. I am so sorry for the confusion in his special day.

   First time eating here. Stuffed quahog was flavored too buttery. The steak tips were delicious! Stuffed Mozambique Cod was also delicious, spicy ... definitely worth the price. We'll be back! 👍

    Great waterfront dining, with a great view of New Bedford fishing pier and good food.The atmosphere is great and the staff are excellent. My family enjoys dining at Merrill’s.
