A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

    This is the second time I’ve been to Millie’s for drinks and the waiting staff are very rude when you let them know you’re only meeting for drinks. Today we were told we had to give the table back within 30 minutes if we’re not eating. The restaurant was pretty empty and there were plenty of tables. I mentioned that last time I came for drinks I was told an hour. She replied no it’s 30minutes. I’m not sure why the rush when it was empty. We may have been staying for several drinks but this wasn’t asked. As it was we stayed for an hour. Seems like a strange way to greet guests before they’ve even ordered and it wouldn’t be my first choice next time!

    Excellent lunch in a fabulous building. The food was great and Abz, our waiter, was superb. He was professional and so helpful. We will definitely return!

    Absolutely amazing afternoon tea and the staff were very attentive and superb -then the pianist started and our day was complete

    Super nice ambience at the Ned with live music and high ceiling space. The food was good, I had fish and chips so somewhat safe choice, and the service was attentive.

    One of my go to place! This restaurant is a great spot for comfort food, with good dishes, excellent service, and a warm, cosy ambiance. The menu offers a variety of satisfying options, perfect for a casual meal or a relaxing night out. The welcoming staff and inviting atmosphere make it a place you'll want to return to. Highly recommended!

    Great ambience, with the live music. We received amazing service, unfortunately didn't get the name of our waiter, but he deserves 5 stars for his hospitality. Food service was little slow due to restaurant full and some staff not present, but overall really positive experience. Slightly disappointed with the sweet pastries, as we were expecting a notch better taste, little too blunt.

    The place was fab, the service good. Coffee was good but the sandwiches were like they were made for a 4 year old, no flavour, bland and pastries were ok. Wont recommend it for afternoon tea.
