                    Normally this restaurant is very crowded. Hardly anyone there on a Saturday for lunchtime which was surprising. The food was just mediocre and we did not enjoy it. Not like it has been in the past. I’m wondering if Mimi’s might be closing after this experience.

                    Everything is usually really good. And most of our meal was. Except the pain de Perdue. The rest was excellent. Egg done just as I like., huge fresh orange juice, good coffee and wonderful muffin.

                    To start out with our waiter seemed confused in understanding our order and had to correct him three different times. This was just on ordering coffee and ice water. Overall the four person booths seemed a little cramped. Quality of the food was good , had to seek out the waiter to have our coffee refilled several times. May have to come by and try out the lunch and dinner menu if I’m in the area . Ended up tipping our waiter just because he was a very cordial and polite person. Times are tough and he may have been overwhelmed at the time initially on ordering.

                    This reservation app does not work. This is the 2nd time that it has happened. I arrive there, and no record of my reservation. Thankfully we did not have to wait long to get seated, but deleted the purpose of this app.

                    I picked the place from the web, as I needed a place half way from Rancho Mirage and Pasadena as we were meeting a friend half-way. I was concerned about the area and place, as I live in the Monterey area, central coast. We were very happy with both the area and the restaurant--perfect poached eggs and the most beautiful blue berry muffin we'd every seen! Bravo, Mimi's!

                    We went there during Mother’s Day and had 7 people in the group. The way they had their menu was very predatory. Their menu consisted of only 3 courses and $34 each. In totals the meal came out to about $50 for each of us and the check included an already set gratuity fee of 18%. We were not allowed to choose individual items and we felt bad and decided to stay because the waiters had set up the tables for us 7. 2 of us had the steak and it was delicious and they both asked for the steaks medium rare but what was strange was half of the steak was medium rare and the other half was rare and bloody. Other than that the food portions were underwhelming for the price and overall the meal was very mediocre. I would gladly return to eat the normal menu but I would never go back during holidays due to the set menu that was not advertised until you sit down and see the menu.
