We continue to have the most amazing experiences at Boiler House. The cocktails were fantastic, the dinner better, and of course Chef and Ally are both 1 in a million. We appreciate all attentions to detail like food allergies and perfect service! Restaurant was busy last night- but this is a must stop on Main in Louisville. Thank You!

Great first time visit. Liked the wood plank and restored old school wood solid tables, bar, tables and etc. Loved the Italian flare steakhouse menu! Perhaps appetizers need to be a slightly larger portion. Dinner portions were on point. The Speakeasy n the basement was a rather cool flair.

Our dinner was good for the most part. Drinks were good. We chose the tuna entree as our appetizer. It was wonderful. It would have been small as an entree, but it was perfect as an appetizer. Both steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The whipped potatoes were super creamy and delicious. The loaded baked potato is more like a twice baked potato and pretty small for the price. Kind of dry too, needed a dollop of sour cream on top. The roasted carrots were the worst dish we ordered. They were so overcooked that I could snap off the crispy bottom third of each one. They were actually crunchy and burnt. Way over cooked. They tasted more of char than carrot. They were just roasted until there was nothing left of them. Dessert menu was lacking. I was worried when I didn't see a dessert menu posted online. The panna cotta flavor was tasty, but gritty on the bottom. Smooth on top, but like eating uncooked tapioca on the bottom. Usually when we order an appetizer plus entree and numerous sides we have some to take home- this time, we did not and for the price that is unusual.

Thank you for the thoughtful review Carrie. Sorry to hear about the carrots but happy that most of the meal was to your liking. We hope that you will come back and see us again soon. -The Team at Monk's Road Boiler House

We began our dinner with a few cocktails, i had the Espresso Martini, others had the House Old Fashioned, and the champagne cocktail - all fantastic. Jock, our waiter was attentive and on point. For starters, we had the calamari, a few dozen (HUGE) shrimp, and the oysters (west coast), we absolutely loved these first few dishes and they were gone within the first minute of them arriving at the table. Not much changed with the entrees, most had steak, along with the assortments of sides that are offered. Our table could not have been more content with dishes. We will be back as soon as we get back to Louisville!

Chef Ciro’s work is wonderful. We enjoyed the Risotto, and the Gnudi. Both were excellent. It’s not easy to find expertly prepared Calamari, but in the Risotto it was perfect. The Shrimp and Lobster were excellent as well as the excellent Risotto. We will definitely return. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was very nice.

The first thing I want to emphasize would be the service at Monks Road; the staff were absolutely amazing, constantly attentive, and incredibly kind. My husband and I decided to have a quiet date night and sat at the bar for dinner and a few drinks, lucky for us we chose the perfect spot to do just that. The cocktails were quite tasty to begin with, and then the food elevated our experience even more. We both ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection, and on top of that the sommelier paired the perfect red to compliment it quite well. We had the brownie for dessert and decided to stay in the company of the bartender for about an hour after for finishing our meal. 10/10 recommend.

We were very excited to try this place but unfortunately did not find it to be at the quality as some of the other similarly priced restaurants in the area. The sommelier was wonderful and recommended a great wine. My husband had a ribeye but had to send it back due to the fat wasn’t rendered. I greatly enjoyed my steak but I also smothered it in truffle butter. I have to say, the truffle butter may have been the best part. We got the carrot side as recommended but didn’t really care for it. The broccolini could’ve been cooked a little longer and it was very hard. The mashed potatoes were good, also smothered them in truffle butter. Got the brownie dessert but found it to lack chocolate flavor and dry. The atmosphere was nice and they have potential but could use some improvement in taste/quality of food.
