Montesacro is the first “Pinseria Romana” in the United States.
The interior resembles old Roman “Fraschette”, offering a wide selection of artisanal cheeses and cured meats, cold dishes from Roman tradition and a modern take on pinsa, a low fat, low calorie and easy to digest flat bread made with a blend of rice, soy and wheat flour imported directly from Rome, all GMO free.
Our wine list represents mostly old world regions. We carry wines that are made from grape varietals native to their respective areas. We feature smaller producers of less known wines with a focus on organic, biodynamic and natural agriculture.

Do not choose the option to sit outside unless you are okay with being in an alley on 6th st. After we decided for the bar it hit almost 15 minutes and no one attended us or greeted us.

We were going to see “Ain’t Too Proud - the story of The Temptations” around the corner at the Golden Gate Theatre. My nephew searched for best restaurants near Golden Gate Theatre and I saw that Montesacro SOMA was a 3 minute walk. We were so glad they were close since that was our main criteria for the choice! We had classic wood oven fired pizza with fresh buratta, brocollini and spicy sausage, kale and Brussels sprouts salad and a bottle of wine. All agreed that it was delicious and a great choice! Will definitely return!

I love this place! This was my 6th time coming here both before or after a show at the Golden Gate Theatre. Everyone I’ve brought here has loved it. The food is delicious and the service attentive and helpful. We ordered 4 different appetizers and 2 pinsa’s to share with our party of 6. Everyone was very happy. Great ambiance. It’s like being in New York, or Italy. Very cool.

It was great the place makes you feel like you are somewhere in Europe minus being in one of the worst places in town 6th street but I guess that adds to the adventure. The staff was great and the food was very good being that it was a limited menu being that it was Valentine’s Day.

We’ve always had an outstanding experience and wonderful food at Montesacro SoMa, but our experience is exceptional when Selby is our server. He is informed about all aspects of the menu and takes great pride in providing warm, courteous, and efficient service. Beatrice is an exemplary manager, always working hard to support her staff and serve customers. She always succeeds in making you feel welcome. Montesacro SoMa has become our go to spot for pre-theater dining, because of the food, but also because of the excellent service Selby and Beatrice provide.
