My only criticism would be with the somewhat awkward service, particularly the 45+ minutes between the moment we were seated and the first course served. Our waitress suggested that we try and finish our cocktails sooner rather than later so that the courses and wine pairings could start. However, about 35-40 minutes after we were seated, the first wine pairing was served without the first course, which followed about 10 minutes after. The remainder of the courses were served in a timely manner. The long pause was not addressed, no one stopped by to perhaps take another drink order, there was no amuse bouche, just 45 minutes of nothing. We did notice that our courses seem to arrive at or around the same time as 2 other tables who were seated at/around the same time. Regardless, the food was very tasty and wine pairings on point.

First three courses were solid and promising. Sweet potato gnocchi did not impress and neither did the black cod. Cranberry cake at the end was not great and only ended up having two bites. We felt like our experience was okay but way overpriced. Service and ambiance were great.

I loved my experience at Mooncusser. The tasting menu was fun and innovative. The wine pairings were at times funky but spot on and wonderful. The Mezcal cocktail was smoky and delicious. My bartender/server Grant made the whole night even more special with his menu descriptions and conversation. Highly recommend!

Overall I have no complaints. Great atmosphere, great service and the employees were excellent. I had very high hopes for this meal. Reading reviews and hearing recommendations are what got me to book the reservation the first place. Under seasoning, randomly placed raw herbs, odd portion size and misplaced spices turned me off to a second visit. I agree that this is being a little overly critical but to spend 300$ on dinner and tip I couldn’t help but feel a little let down. Either way it was a good experience overall, but temper your expectations if you’re hoping for a very high end culinary seafood experience.

Dill on the cod didn’t make sense and didn’t go together and was not good. Desert and starters best part of the meal. Ambiance was lacking something as well. The downstairs bar seemed fun which we didn’t visit.

Quality of the food was fantastic but food took a while to come out - pace was too slow. Seemed to be understaffed.

We chose Mooncusser to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary and it was very special experience. We enjoyed all courses of the 5-course prix fixe, but especially the toor dal soup and the hake with broccolini, clam sauce, lemon bread crumbs. Service was perfectly paced, friendly and generally invisible when it should be. The upstairs room is cozy but airy, with perfect lighting and unique artwork on the walls. I am looking forward to going back when a new menu is available!
