Moro and Morito chef proprietors, Sam & Sam Clark, opened their third restaurant, located at 195 Hackney Road in 2016.

Morito Hackney Road's Head Chef, Sevan Tchivitdji, draws influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Morito has a concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser-known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.

  • Calçotada at Morito Hackney 2025

    £45.00 per person

    9 Feb 2025 - 2 Mar 2025
Morito is celebrating Catalonia's famous onion festival, the Calçotada! The Gran Fiesta de la Calçotada is returning on Sundays with a special menu to celebrate the harvest of the Calçot! In Valls, the epicentre of the Calçotada, large bunches of this Catalan onion, fresh from the earth, are grilled over an open fire until charred then wrapped in newspaper. Served on terracotta tiles, the calçots are peeled with bare hands, dunked in romesco sauce made from almonds and peppers, and devoured. True to the Catalonian spirit, it is a great excuse to get together, talk, party and more importantly eat onions! For Sunday evenings of 9th, 16th, 23rd February and 2nd of March we will be serving a special Calçotada menu priced at £45pp.

One of my favourite restaurants in Hoxton and for the first time in nearly 10 years I was disappointed by the quality of the food.

This place is always a success if you wany to please everyone!( meat eaters, pescatarians, and veggies). The tapas/ mezze style dishes are all delicious and the woodgrilled flatbreads are amazing! It's like MORO without the price tag. Only downside is the concrete walls and ceilings make Morito a noisy space- MORO is better if you want a buzzy vibrant atmosphere but want to able to chat easily above the background noise.

Have been previously, but this was the first for breakfast. Limited options (4), but the dishes we have were amazing. Will come for breakfast again.

This is our third or fourth time of dining here and as always the staff were lovely and very accommodating. We arrived a little late for our booking but they found us a nice table with no fuss even though it was quite busy. The food is great. One slight gripe was with the ‘special’ that we ordered. This was a prawn and pine nut dish, which sounded great and tasted okay, but most of the flavour was on the shells. I feel that a little more work could be done on the no and low alcohol cocktails. The one I tried (ginger ice) was very unbalanced - very citrusy with no sweetness to counteract that….& no discernible ginger. On the other hand the espresso martini and Adonis were very nice

Some of the food was brilliant but the service was a bit slow - they forgot a few dishes and were slow with drinks and getting the table ready.

Wonderful food, beautifully seasoned. My duck was excellent, though I wouldn’t have minded a bigger sized main course portion. The staff were very accommodating and moved us to a bigger table when we requested it.

Visited for a birthday lunch on friend’s recommendation. The service was just wonderful, the Bloody Mary was the best I think I’ve had and I’m quite old! The food was amazing and honestly we couldn’t have had a more fabulous birthday lunch experience. Thank you!
