   We have been dining at Morton's Steakhouse in Santa Ana for almost 20 years now and for the most part, it has been delightful. However, the last few times the ambience, the attention to detail, and the caring from the hostess and the management has steadily gone downhill, and our last dining experience it all culminated in a horrible experience. Our dinner reservations were for 5:45 PM, January 18, 2025. We arrived five minutes early and went up to the hostess and told her we had arrived. The gal behind the desk said okay, but we will seat you closer to your reservation time of 5:45; I thanked her, and we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Anytime a DoorDash or Uber delivery person came by to pick their order up at the front desk, they were attended to, anytime someone else came in, they seemed to pass us over and be shown to their table while we waited additional time. I asked to see the manager and it took more than five minutes for the manager to come see us. The manager, who recognized us, explained that they had a large banquet they were preparing for, and that seemed to interfere with us sitting at a table. Anyway, close to 40 minutes after we first arrived, we were finally seated in a room that looked like a large banquet room (nothing on the walls) and we ordered our dinner. The only bright spot to the entire experience was our server named Kevin. He knew that we were upset, and he said that the management told him about our horrible beginning to the dinner and he tried to make us feel better but overcompensated quite a lot. We paid the check and we each looked at each other and said, “well get a good look because this will be the last time we ever come to this Morton’s again.” This was our last time at Morton's. I'm sorry to say that Morton’s has somewhat outlived Its usefulness and reputation, and a once-great steakhouse has now become much closer to an uncaring alcohol serving Sizzler. RIP Morton’s.

   Our server David (Dave for short) was outstanding. He sat us in the Sammy Davis booth and treated us with care and courtesy!! The Rib Eye was excellently prepared by Chef Carlos. We added Lobster Cheese and Mac & Brussel Sprouts… ended off with a bday Crème Brule

   Our server, Christian was amazing! He was friendly, accommodating and efficient. We came here for my parent’s anniversary. This location made the occasion really special. Thanks to the staff!

   Had a bit of an issue at my birthday dinner while at Morton’s in Santa Ana tonight. Two problem steaks. My filet was ordered medium-rare plus, but came rare with a cool center, and my friend’s New York was full of gristle, and even hard to cut, let alone chew. Adding to the problem, we ordered asparagus, and received scalloped potatoes instead. We had ordered a baked potato to share, so getting more potatoes in lieu of the much wanted asparagus, was redundant. The mistake regarding the asparagus was rectified, but the asparagus came after we were almost done eating, as did a replacement New York steak. (It too, had a bit of gristle, but was put in a to-go box, since we needed to leave for the theatre.) One more issue…the crust on the key lime pie was soggy. Oh, well… Management was accommodating and did comp the problematic New York steak, but the bill showed a charge for the scalloped potatoes. Really? Of course the charge was removed when we brought this to the attention of our waiter. Service was outstanding, but there were definitely kitchen issues. The restaurant was just starting to get busy, but certainly wasn’t crowded. We arrived at 4:45pm. I love Morton’s, but I might book at nearby Maestros next steak night out.

   This was our 3rd year in a row celebrating New Year’s Eve at Morton’s. They always have friendly service, very professional and the food is always delicious! I especially like that they don’t force a prefixed menu and don’t make you feel rushed to get out fast even though it’s a holiday. I really appreciate that. Highly recommend coming here for any special occasion.

    We were celebrating our 8th annual Christmas eve dinner at Morton's. Our server was great and very friendly and attentive. Shaun the manager whom we have known for the past several years came over to our table and greeted us. He's very gracious and makes sure everything is good for our experience there. We ordered the Cajun Ribeye with Schezuan green beans and Asparagus. The food as always was delicious but the highlight of the evening was the Carrot cake dessert. It was awesome that Morton's finally brought it back. Thank you to our server and the staff.
