I've wanted to go to this restaurant for years to try it. Underwhelming for the price. A twice-baked potato for $16? The food was mediocre and to add insult to injury they added a 2% additional charge for "kitchen appreciation"...what the heck is that? A way for you to make more money? How about the owner appreciates his employees and pay them more? How is this ridiculous added charge your customer's responsibility? Then the bill also only suggests 20,25, and 30% tips? Will never be back and with all the wonderful restaurants in the valley, this one is not worth it...at all.

We went to Mr. Lyons for our anniversary. We were treated royally. Started with champagne and followed with an amazing dinner of filet mignon and prime rib. Our waitress was excellent as well as everyone else who helped serve us. It is pricey but for a special occasion it was perfect!

It was very ok. The service was fine. The food was hit or miss. Skip the Parker Rolls, Wedge Salad and Crab Rangoon. The Beef Wellington was the stand out. Very good. Martinis were good. Might just sit at the bar next time.

Shocking thanksgiving experience. No notification when booking that only a limited set menu would be offered, for a set $115 per person. Upon being seated discover that some items from the already limited menu were already sold out, with no substitutions, namely the soup and steak. (A steakhouse without steak?). The staff had clearly had a stressful day as the service was non-existent, only interested in removing plates before we’d finished eating rather than serving. Tons of staff, but no one available to serve. Asked to speak with the manager early on, but he didn’t arrive. We managed to flag him down at the end of the night only by refusing to pay the bill until we spoke with him. First experience at this place, which we were told was a “one-off” bad experience as they’d had a disaster with the turkey earlier in the day, but now after reading the recent reviews, appears this place is on the severe decline. Very poor food and service for a $500 meal. Wish I’d read the reviews before going.

I have eaten at Mr Lyons at least half a dozen times over the last decade and have had no complaints. But last nights thanksgiving special was an exercise in mediocrity. The first disappointment was the soup was off the menu - surely a major fail for a special thanksgiving menu. The alternatives were wedge and caesar salads; both were limp. Our main courses were "turkey" but it had no resemblance to any turkey I have eaten (it was also overcooked and dry) and what seemed like reheated (and barely luke warm) vegetables. We were told we were the last sitting of the night and it felt like the food we were being served had been sat around a long time. None of it seemed fresh and none of it was hot. There's simply no excuse for this unsatisfactory and underwhelming meal especially when the bill for two came out at over $500.

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. The lighting was very dark. What is this place trying to be, a restaurant or a nightclub ? Some sort of hybrid I guess. Our cocktails were disappointing - I ordered one described by the waiter as spirit-forward that was way too sweet. We were never asked if we were happy with them. I ordered the prime rib. It was tough. Everything seemed reheated, kind of dried out and not really special, not bad enough to send back but not good enough to find it yummy. I don’t think this was the kitchen’s best effort. The Brussels sprouts were burnt and bitter. The mac n cheese was dried out and not creamy. We had to peel the skin off the sweet potatoes before eating the slices which was not charming at a dark both. The mashed potatoes were good as was the bread. My pumpkin pie was frozen in the middle. My companion’s apple tart had a tough pastry on top that was hard to cut through with a spoon and the filling was bland. Our waiter was sweet but not super attentive.

Had the Thanksgiving menu. Ordered prime rib and were told they ran out. Disappointed but nothing one can do. Got our very limp wedge salad before appetizer and had to request rolls. Manager came back to inform us they did have prime rib, so we were again anticipating a delicious meal. Entree came with sides. Prime rib was awful and sides were ok. Upon departure we talked with other patrons and were told they were equally disappointed. Not a great first experience. Especially for the price.

One of our go-to special occasion places, always great. We booked the Thanksgiving special. Arrived early and had cocktails in Seymour’s (recommended.) The pre-fixe menu was excellent as was the service. Highly recommended as always!

After waiting weeks to have our Thanksgiving Dinner at Mr. Lyons, our overall experience was very disappointing. After waiting for our table, even though we had an early reservation, we were eventually seated in the Lounge area which was extremely noisy thanks to three gentlemen at the bar being over exciting and talking above all the rest in the room. When we asked the waitstaff if they could say something, we were told that they could not ask guests to lower the volume. The table they gave us was a cocktail table, not really big enough to have drinks, let alone a whole meal. The food was very average. They had a fixed menu, which consisted of a watery salad, dry turkey roulettes, that were supposed to be stuffed with sausage stuff, but only had sausage, four sides (which were not too bad) and dinner rolls - the only highlight of the meal. My desert was an apple pastry, which the dough was so tough you could not eat it, and the apples were under baked. And the side of ice-cream has a sour, carbonated taste. The service was okay, though we had to ask for refills on our drinks twice, and they almost forgot our leftovers to take home, which sadly we ended tossing out. After dinner we decided to have a drink in their small lounge. We ordered a drink and waited 15 minutes, ending up having to go back to the bar to request the drink again. After another 10 minutes we ended up walking out without a drink. Overall, this experience was not a good one, especially for the price they charged for the food. I doubt very much we will ever be returning to this restaurant.
