   We had heard about the Sunday brunch at Murphy’s and looked forward to it. When we arrived, I had to seek out someone to be seated. The dining room was essentially empty except for a party of 11 in the back room. We had to wait for nearly an hour for our food. They must’ve been short staffed. The staff was friendly and apologetic. But the overall experience was disappointing.

   With reservations was still seated immediately but in the bar and every time the door opened was freezing cold, with reservations for 2 at 5:30 felt we deserved better seating. Never got refill on my water during entire meal. Food was not bad and not excellent was good quality. Prices are on par with other similar restaurants but need to take it up a notch to justify prices

   We had a great experience here, from start to finish. We were welcomed warmly, had a great bar seating, and our dinner was good. We’ll be back soon!

   We have been going to Murphy's restaurant for 17 years on our anniversary and have never had a bad experience! The food is always excellent!

   Bachelor party came in to have many drinks, enjoy good food. The service only came often enough for 2 drinks. The salads ordered for appetizers took hour and 15min to come out and dinner came 15 minutes after that. No communication of why we didn’t see our server more than 2 times before dinner arrived and server would walk away before we finished ordering. Service was the poorest part of this experience.

   We’ve been visiting Prescott for years, and Murphy’s was one of the must-go’s on each trip. Since Covid, it hasn’t been the same. We chalked it up to the difficulties the pandemic created with supply shortages. Our last visit prior to this was about a year ago, and we weren’t left with the must-go-back feeling. We decided to give it a try again this trip, and now have a won’t-go-back feeling. Aside from the friendliness of the staff, good service from Crystal, and the french fries; we were left with no reason. The salmon and burger were dry and overcooked. I’ll leave it at that, we didn’t complain and give them an opportunity to correct it. The biggest problem is the menu and pricing, it is a shell of what it once was. The food selection has been decimated from what it used to be, and most of the pricing seems out of line. Especially when both dishes we just got weren’t prepared correctly. Three oysters for $18? No thank you. We’ll check in during future trips to see if the menu shows signs of change, and maybe consider trying again if it does. In closing, I also leave reviews for positive experiences, not only to complain. I truly hope Murphy’s can get back to what it once was.

   1st of all I made my reservation on OpenTable & wrote that it was for a birthday. When we got there - there was a sign "wait to be seated" we waited and waited until I went into the bar & got the bartender-she told us to grab a seat in the bar. I made a request on OpenTable reservations for a cozy booth in the restaurant, so I declined the invitation to sit in the bar. I told her I made reservations & she looked & acknowledged that we did. She sat us 3 tables away from the entrance door (not very cozy) considering there was no one else in the entire restaurant yet! I told our waitress it was my spouses birthday, so she was aware. NOW on to the food! We both ordered a wedge salad...very weird salad since it was cut up & not in a WEDGE. The blue cheese dressing was runny liquid...the bacon was hard as a rock (so I am guessing it was old???) The lettuce was fresh and about the only good thing about the salad. My spouse ordered the ribs with the mashed potatoes. He said the ribs were pretty good, but the mashed potatoes looked old & reheated...the blob on his plate had a dried outer layer on his mashed potatoes??? I ordered a chicken sandwich that had bacon on it (you know where I am going with the old hard bacon!) I took one bite out of the chicken & took it off my sandwich!!! It was awful - it had a really really bad taste and it was hard and dried out. Guessing the chicken was not so fresh either. Our waitress was probably the best thing about the meal. She noticed the discarded chicken on my plate & asked if she could bring me something else to eat...I declined. Someone from I am guessing management??? I think his name was Dave??? Came out & told me that he took my chicken sandwich off the bill....he did not appear to be very happy. Oh well...I was pretty disappointed on how the birthday dinner was going. NOT even a birthday piece of cake at this place anymore. The whole dinner was a let down for me trying to do something nice for my spouse.

   They were ready for our small group and took good care of us. A few in our group had not been here before, and they are definitely coming back.

   Beautiful historic building. Our server was energetic and cheerful. The baked mac deserves a special mention: best ever! Moderately priced. Would definitely recommend.

    Dinner was good as was the service we elected to get the chocolate cake for dessert. It was rather dried out so just OK but overall good experience .
