From the OpenTable editors: Wife-and-husband team Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka trained in MICHELIN-Starred kitchens from Napa to NYC before returning home to open what Eater calls one of the most essential restaurants in Honolulu. The airy, first-floor space has a big, bustling dining room for Hawaiian comforts like the signature mochi-crusted kampachi and wagyu beef sliders on housemade mochi buns. Save room for Karr-Ueoka's award-winning desserts, such as a gussied-up mango shave ice.

    Food is always great and the service is also great. I would highly recommend the poke appetizer and the kampachi on some n noodles. If it was a special occasion I would have ordered the set menu as this is always very delicious. The desserts are also great here as Michelle is a pastry chef.

    We love this restaurant: good seafoods. Even though it was Thursday, it was crowded. So the waiters were so busy to stop by our table, yet the dishes are magnificent and we enjoyed a lot.

    My other half and I love to eat here when we get to treat ourselves. This night we had wagyu beef sliders and ahi nachos for appetizers. Both were really good but the wagyu sliders were 10/10, we would order that again. Also the mochi crusted kona kampachi and miso honey glazed butterfish is always a must. Everybody is really nice and eating there is always an enjoyable experience.

    Food and service were fine. No complaints, but not great. Weird location above a luxury car dealership. No outside sign and really hard to find.
