Nami Nori is a casual, Japanese restaurant specializing in open-style temaki hand rolls, located in Montclair. The menu features signature hand rolls, including crunchy varieties, as well as classic versions, and a special vegan section. Japanese-inspired dishes from the kitchen and desserts are also on offer.

We accept reservations up to 30 days in advance. Please note that the grace period is 10 minutes for guests who are running late. We kindly ask that guests respect our dinner seating times of 1 hr 30 minutes for parties up to 3 and 2 hours for parties of 4-5, and 2 hr 30 minutes for parties of 6 or more.

    There’s nothing better than sitting at the Temaki Counter and having the chef personally hand you each piece! This chef interactive reservation will be at the Temaki counter, which is a high top format. Please note, due to demand, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have the ability to move this reservation to a different table type or dining area.

    Multiple dates available
    Grab a seat in our indoor dining room and enjoy a server driven experience! This reservation will be seated at a traditional table inside. Reservations at tables will receive their Temaki in complete sets. To guarantee the most crisp nori, each piece will be wrapped in a plant based wrapper that you’ll remove when you’re ready to enjoy! Please note, due to demand, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have the ability to move this reservation to a different table type or dining area.

    My partner and I recently visited Nami Nori for the first time, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy feel. One of the biggest highlights for me was that the entire menu is gluten free, which is such a rare and wonderful find! The food was nothing short of exceptional—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, well-balanced flavors. The signature temaki (hand rolls) were the perfect combination of crispy nori, perfectly seasoned rice, and high-quality fillings. Every bite was a delight! The service was also outstanding. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the dining experience and take pride in what they do. Whether you’re gluten-free or not, Nami Nori is an absolute must-visit. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! Highly recommend.

    Wonderful 'Open Wrap' Sushi and other food. Easy to understand menu. Server was very engaging and answered questions we had. Non Alcoholic drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely will back!!

    10/10 every time ! I tell all my friends about this spot. Mocktails were very good too I LOVED the yuzu palmer. Management is fabulous, service is on point!

    It is a great place, food was delicious and quite an experience. Perhaps a tad pricey but worth it. We had a lovely time celebrating my birthday

    I’ve been to Nami Nori numerous times at every location and as far as the food quality and taste goes this was by far the best experience yet - however, the staff mixed up the order and shortchanged us some rolls. This wasn’t the problem, it was just the extremely rude attitude by the chefs when we tried to resolve it that put a damper on the overall experience. Every other time I’ve dined with Nami Nori the staff has been extremely kind and enthusiastic although last night the same could definitely not be said.
