   The food and service was wonderful. The venue is beautiful and welcoming. The music is a little too loud which ups the overall noise level. That would be the only thing I can say that could be improved. The drinks are beautiful and super yummy. The food choices are wonderful and so creative. I wish I had the ability to eat more so we could have ordered appetizers and entrees. We had a great meal and look forward to returning.

   We ate here early on a Saturday. The decor is lovely, the staff are awesome, the ambiance amazing once they changed the loud music to something more appropriate for the level of dining to which the menu aspires. The food is incredibly flavorful and plentiful. The beans, rice and tortillas are nicely done with good flavors. Perhaps the mole could be a bit more refined: it doesn’t have to be so overtly chocolatey in every aspect. Just over whelmed the enchiladas. The sauce on the pork ribs was way way way too salty and thick. My chile Relleno stuffed with shrimp was good: the red shrimp stock sauce was quite a lot spicier than indicated, so it would be helpful to have more description on the menu.

   Took a family member to have dinner here and had another great experience. The ambiance is lovely, the servers were attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was delicious. This is not your usual Mexican restaurant with a burrito and tacos, but a carefully crafted menu of delicacies that highlight authentic Mexican ingredients. I could easily be happy with just ordering a couple of appetizers for my dinner along with a craft cocktail or two. They also have vegetarian and vegan options that don't sacrifice taste. I can highly recommend Nicolas de Herencia if you are looking for an upscale dining experience. If you are looking for a taqueria or a budget meal, this isn't your place. They had some kinks when they first opened, but they have all been worked out and this is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Carmel.

   This is a fabulous restaurant! In addition to the guacamole, we had the crab chili rellano and the ribeye steak. Both were delicious and really innovative. Both are cocktail and cocktail were also terrific. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Paola was helpful, informative, and incredibly personable. We just can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.

   Dining experience? Never happened. I booked online several weeks in advance. I received multiple reminders and requests to confirm my reservation via Open Table. I confirmed. We showed up at the right place, at the right time. The restaurant was CLOSED. The sign on the door showed it was only open for dinner hours. This is a failure on the part of both Nicolas Cocina de Herencia and Open Table, and really a poor experience from start to finish. I'm sure someone will delete this review since it isn't about the dining experience, but I hope it stays up to give an example of the overall experience. My family is in the restaurant business, and I know this can be done better.
