Named for the crimson Japanese maple tree, Nomai offers new American cuisine with creative Asian flavors in a modern, elegant space in Hingham’s Derby Street Shops. Nomai brings the same fun & lively atmosphere Owner Brian Moy’s spots are known for, but in a more refined & elevated setting.

Conceptualized by Culinary Director Jason Hua, Nomai’s menu highlights familiar favorites & flavors from throughout Asia. Hua was most recently Chef & Managing Partner for over a decade at The Dutch named Best New Restaurant 2011 by The New York Times. His Boston roots run deep, he worked alongside Ken Oringer at Boston’s iconic Clio & was a member of UNI’s opening team.

Nomai boasts an extensive Japanese whiskey portfolio. Bar Director, Justin Park of Bar Leather Apron, named 1 of the Top 50 Bars North America 2022, offers riffs on classic cocktails like the Nomai Old Fashioned, along with originals like The Matcha Maker. A great sake selection, craft beer & wine list are also available.

Outstanding decor and atmosphere. Very relaxing from the hustle and bustle of shopping. Presentation of food was excellent and very tasty. We enjoyed our appetizer and our meal. Cocktails were delicious too! Great value!

Couldn't eat either of the dishes ordered. They didn't seem to concerned. No veggie sushi rolls. The decor is great the menu needs an overhaul

Exciting food! Very fine dining here for sure!! Beats everything else in Hingham and further afield. The crispy crunchy eggplant bao and the Peking duck bao are scrumptious! Too bad I had to share them with my date (of 54 years standing). We each had an order of the tuna crudo. Superb. The sauce was light, citrus-y and delectable. The grilled lime garnish was a touch of genius. The most delicious cuts of the tuna. And the Wu-Tang braised pork ribs with Thai BBQ hoisin with chopped peanuts, Thai basil, and crispy shallots as a garnish were excellent also. We have reserved again for lunch a few days from now. Oh yes, the ramen broth and noodles are wonderful. The broth has a wonderful depth of flavor and the noodles are just right al dente. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We are grateful. One caveat: give this chef a chance. The food may not be familiar pan Asian. But you'll develop a wonderful mouth memory of his cooking and crave more!!!!!!!!!!

Loved Nomai last night. Food was delicious. We had the salmon dish, the teriyaki burger, koji chicken sandy, and a yummy rice noodle salad. All were very flavorful and enjoyed by whole table. Meg was our server and she was great. Attentive, knowledgable and friendly. Will be back again!

The food was mostly inedible. The restaurant was so cold we left our coats on. Mostly empty… I guess other people know not to dine here.

Exceptional experience in all aspects. New menu for fall/winter. The salmon entree was delicious and the crab fried rice, one of our favorites. Tuna tacos were the best we’ve ever had. Casey, our server, was top notch! Looking forward to going back soon.

Best asian food around!!!! Ramen, Tuna tacos, tuna crudo, Peking duck bao, etc. Fabulous! Even their cheeseburger and fires are so special. The quality at Nomai is heads above other close by eateries that pack in the crowds. Simply cannot compare if you really like fine food. Thank you Nomai!!! Oh, and by the way, it's a gorgeous place. The manager and service is excellent. I can't wait to go back!
