Simply outstanding. The staff were friendly and very knowledgable about the dishes they were serving. It was our anniversary and there was a card on the table from team Norman’s. And a very welcome glass of fizz each to celebrate. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten. The gazpacho soup was unreal. The carrots were unforgettable. The hen in the wood was possibly my favourite pasta dish. Ever. We tried the beef fat fudge with desert. Sounds ridiculous. Tastes superb. We will be going back. Thank you Norman’s.

My wife and I wondered what all the fuss was about so decided to try it for ourselves. Wow was it worth it !!! This is a very special little restaurant serving dishes of the highest quality. We shared two nibbles and five small plates. Each one was a delight but the Crab nibble and the Monkfish small plate were sublime. The Monkfish was as good a fish course as any I have eaten in the last few years and that includes comparisons with the likes of R&A in Soho. The staff were lovely and the service was exactly as you would want it to be so all in all a very enjoyable evening. Well done to the whole team. Truly hope we can return soon. Tea for two on a Wednesday afternoon in Kirkburton and Norman’s was busy with a lovely buzz. Kicked off with cocktails, a girly tradition. Nibbled on a crispy crab tart with little cubes of apple decorated with herbs and flowers. It’s a delight, refreshing, umami, sweet and had me in one bite. The monkfish which followed had a massive savoury kick, which is still making my mouth water. The featherblade was succulent and tender. Both paired well with the tomatoes which left you with a cleansed palate. No room for pud but squeezed in a gooey piece of chocolate beef fat fudge which hugged the tongue with a real chocolate hit and hopefully not my hips. All washed down with wine chosen from an interesting menu. Back next week.

This is our 2nd visit. The first visit was exceptional. This visit was not. The food and drinks are lovely. We were rushed through service from entering the restaurant up to when we told staff what they were doing. At one point we had all our small plates on the table. It was not a relaxing enjoyable experience.
