Northshore Brasserie is a family owned, full-service restaurant and bar serving French Belgian cuisine in a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. Over the last decade, we have become a Knoxville favorite known for hearty delicious food, and outstanding service. For dinner, we specialize in Brasserie classics, such as: steak frites, mussels, roast chicken, fresh seafood, and handmade pastas. We also take advantage of local produce and meats to create in season specials. Our bar has a vibrant, unpretentious atmosphere where locals and out-of-towners gather to enjoy craft cocktails, Belgian beers, and a selection of wines from around the world.

Excellent as always. We had the butchers cut (hanger steak), muscles with the white wine sauce and ratatouille. It was the perfect meal for my wife and I to share. Great drinks and excellent service.

Everything is absolutely wonderful but it’s very noisy...can’t have a normal-voice conversation at the table. But that’s not why folks go there; they come for the excellent food and top-notch service. It’s the best restaurant in Knoxville and my favorite, in spite of the noise level.

Northshore Brasserie is one of our favorite restaurants in Knoxville. Last night Christian's hospitality was excellent and our food was very good. I was disappointed to see that my favorite entree--the Short Rib--had been 86'd from the menu and replaced with a Lamb item, but I ordered the Steak au Poivre which was excellent and cooked perfectly. My wife always orders the Mussels which were also good, but served "not hot". Not cool enough to send back, but not as usual either. Although the restaurant was a little slower than usual for a Saturday night (probably due to the UT home game), speed of service was unusually slow for some reason. Maybe it was just a slightly off night and we will, of course, be back soon. I sure hope they put the Short Rib back on the menu.

The Knoxville area has a very limited amount of award worthy restaurant establishments. I would consider the Northshore Brasserie, perhaps, one of three, maybe four, restaurants, in Knox County, that fringes on the verge of exceptional. The missing piece, at the Northshore Brasserie, and the few other area restaurants, seems to source from one employee choosing an undesirable ingredient or choosing to improperly prepare a dish, for example, improper cooking technique or inaccurate temperature. This is a service issue, not a food issue, because if the service is acceptable, professional, and accurate, then the food that is prepared and presented would be the same equal part as the service. The deduction with rating is because of the Filet Roquefort fiasco. The entrée was returned 3 times for improper temperature. First raw, then rare, then rare plus, when my original order was requested as medium-rare. The result resembled a mushy microwave resembling dish. Server comments were that there are zero microwaves in the restaurant, and the mushy exterior to the Filet was because of the Filet chosen that the new grill chef decided to cook. My point exactly. It’s not the food in the Knoxville area, it’s the service that limits the area from exceptional cuisine. If that’s the service industry’s choice in the Knoxville area, to only achieve mediocre standards, then the Knoxville service industry will only know limited success. I prefer restaurants that choose to be limitless with their success, and hire and work employees that except nothing less.

I really enjoy Northshore Brasserie. I wish that the frites were longer for better dipping. I know this is possible because I have had frites that were. I think that the restaurant is a good value, and it's definitely an above average experience in Knoxville fine dining.
