In 1989, Mark opened Oceanique in its present-day Evanston location, a charming 1920s Spanish-style building. Mark, with his wife Renée as our General Manager continue to offer discriminating diners some of the most creative and exquisite seafood and meat dishes prepared in the French tradition, with a modern American twist.

The food is spectacular. It starts with the plating, every dish was a form of art. Each bite exploded with flavor. Our waiter was very attentive and really described the wine with expertise.

All aspects were top notch other than the size of the venue on a Saturday made it quite noisy and detracted from the ambiance. I am sure this situation is not avoidable.

Oceaniqe has always been a favorite for seafood in the north suburbs. However did notice a smaller selection of seafood entrees probably due to pandemic supply problems.
