We love Old Captiva House and have dined at their Thanksgiving and Christmas buffets several times. This year’s Christmas buffet was very poor. The raw bar was greatly reduced in size and selection. The carving and salad stations were average at best. The hot selections were mostly dry and uninteresting, and the service clearing dishes was poor. Very disappointed as this had been our go to place for many years. This is not acceptable at this price point.

V Disappointing experience. Great host and hostess, beautiful space. But ALL of the food that s/have been hot was instead stone COLD! The mashed potatoes, carved roasts, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts- literally everything. Mgt s/ either not have the buffet outside - esp on such a cold damp cloudy Dec day- or s/ have better way of ensuring hot food stays hot. This was DEF not worth $85 - and on top of it to have addl 20% tip added on when waiter didn’t even come back to take drink order was really disgusting. Have been to OCH many x over the yrs but this unfort was worst time.

The Christmas buffet was very disappointing, food was very dry and cold, we told the server and manager and no response. We use to come here in the past and loved the food, it was amazing, ice sculptures, cold seafood display that had crablegs, oysters and shrimp. They used to have a beautiful salad bar with losts of options, really delicious entrée options, variety of vegetables just amazing and worth the price back then. This time, minimal options, one salad that was saturated with dressing, no dessert display only four to choose from, the food was very dry and cold, only cocktail shrimp and cold dry coconut shrimp- that was there seafood display. They even charged extra for having a cup of coffee on top of the $75 plate price. Just lost its class, there was nothing special about it anymore, which might be why the place was half empty. Back in the day If you didn’t make a reservation a month early you wouldn’t get in. It has really went downhill very disappointing.

Food was just okay for Christmas Eve. Hogfish was prepared a bit dry. The hostess stand was a little chaotic and hostess didn’t know what to do, per her statements. Our server Eric was amazing! We love Tween Resort. The decorations were amazing!

I had a 6 pm reservation and wasn’t seated until 6:45 pm. When I arrived at 6 pm, there were 10 people in line ahead of me for the hostess. It took 20 minutes to be greeted by the hostess and then was told I had to wait 25 minutes more. For most of the 20 minutes I was waiting for the hostess, she was not at the hostess station. When I was eventually seated, I was seated in the bar area and not a dining room. What’s the point of a reservation if I have to wait 45 minutes for a table, and that table is not even in a dining room? The waitress’ service was excellent.

Each of us (4) had a different meal and each meal was amazing. Our service was excellent. Thank you Hannah. We got to the restaurant just before the sunset. It was absolutely beautiful. This was our second time dining here and we would absolutely dine here again. ❤️🥂

Wow! If you are looking for an elevated dining experience in Sanibel/Captiva, this is the spot! We had great service and Hannah was incredibly knowledgeable in navigating some dietary restrictions. Upon hearing that I am gluten free, she immediately put in an order of gluten free bread for the table. We enjoyed the shrimp and lobster cocktail before our main courses. I got the (gluten free) blackened snapper, but the watermelon cucumber salad side completely stole the show. The grouper (atop lobster risotto) also looked and smelled incredible! We finished our meal with a classic creme brûlée. We also enjoyed the Tween Waters holiday light display! All in all, a 5⭐️ meal.
