   The ambience is cozy and approachable and the service was friendly an efficient. The dishes were appropriately sized for lunch and flavorful. The exotic panna cotta is must-have.

   The management of Olio a Piu gave us a complementary meal after a good but less than stellar review for a dinner we had there during Restaurant Week. We took them up on the offer and had lunch there on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was busy (a surprise to us for a downtown DC location) and the vibe was happy. We both had the delicious Farfalla Rossa cocktail. We had the Burrata Mediterraneo and Vitello Tonnato appetizers, Fusilli Cinghiale e Funghi pasta and Bronzino del Marinaio for entrees, and Tiramisu and pear and chocolate desserts. The food was excellent! Our server, Ximena, was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, as was the rest of the staff. Thank you, Hospitality Team of Olio e Piu, for offering us this second chance at your restaurant. It tells us that you care about your patrons and the food and hospitality you provide. That's much appreciated these days.

   Went for Valentines Day and had a very average experience. The food was nothing special, carbonara was very watery and made with a ramen noodle-like texture. The waitstaff was very nonchalant and were gossiping around the restaurant while on their phones throughout the night. Had much higher expectations for this restaurant. Not on my list to come back to.

   My wife and I went for Valentine's dinner. They had a special menu for the day along with their regular menu, with pretty much all the dishes described in Italian. We tried to use Google Translate to understand what the choices were. We asked about one of the specials, and was told it was "beef liver". My wife likes liver, so she ordered that. Turns out it was a beef steak with a goose liver on top of it, and we were not asked how we liked the steak cooked. My wife likes steaks cooked well done, and it was medium by default. She liked the goose liver, she shared the steak with me, but we should have been asked how to cook the steak and that it was goose liver on a beef steak not beef liver. I had lobster ravioli, it was good, but only 4 heart shaped raviolis. I suggest the staff becomes more familiar with details of the specials.

   The ambiance was fun, low light with good younger crowd energy. 50% off bottles of Italian wine was a great value. The bar service was very good. All the food was made well. The wild boar sauce was nice. Nice apps. Overall it works for a nice night out with comfort easy Italian food.

   The ambiance was lovely, but the food was nothing special (I had the Cesar salad, Vongole, & Tiramisu) and the service was incredibly slow. Our waitress was very nonchalant and not present, no matter how many times we expressed the need for better service. She did not greet us, did not ask for our order, did not bring the dessert with a bday candle as requested, and did not ask us if we needed the check at any point. Each time we had to flag her down. Disappointed and don’t think I’ll come back.

    For the price of the meal, the portion is very small. We ordered the carbonara, which is very salty and not well incorporated - seemed like they dumped fresh boiled pasta into a thin butter sauce without draining. The potatoes were very oily as well. We had reservations for 7:30 and reached there and the hostess said either we had to wait in line for a better table or be seated at the table closest to the door and were freezing due to the draft. Our waitress was lovely and the service was on time. Overall, it was very overhyped for the quality of food.
