   Upon arrival, there was an error on the part of restaurant staff and i had to justify my reservation. It was embarrassing. Second, my steak was severely undercooked and a filet mignon shouldn’t have an issue like that. It had to be recooked and my date ate alone while that happened. Third, the additional tip request after a forced surcharge amount is not professional. For $466 for dinner for two, I won’t be back for a while.

   The place is nice and quiet, very small and cozy. The food was really good and I was happy with every dish on the Valentines Day special. It was very pricey and they only serve beer and wine. I will go back for the food though.

   Lovely lunch. Wonderful flavors. Delicate. Attentive service. A bit pricey. Clothes need to be aired of cooking smells afterward.

   Osterio Fasulo is an outstanding Italian family restaurant. The head chef, Marcello Fasulo, is a young guy with excellent skills in food preparation. His dishes are delicious and are filled with fresh local ingredients. Of particular note worthy praise are his gnocchi. You will not find softer, pillowy gnocchi anywhere. Paired with his superb sauces they are a meal in themselves. Excellent soups and salads, appetizers and solid entrees make this easily the best restaurant in Davis and a very much under the radar choice in the Sacramento area. The place is small inside (about 12 tables) but it has a large outdoor seating area as weather permits. The servers are largely family, the menu changes seasonally. Put this place at the top of your “gotta try this “ list.

   Amazing and innovative Italian dining! Matteo provided outstanding and charming service for our lunch which included the Parmesan Soufflé, Mirepoix Pasta, Cioppino, and a nice Tuscan Sangiovese.

   We had a lovely winter lunch here. Normally I only go to Osteria during nice weather to take advantage of the patio but I had forgotten how nice and cosy the dining room is. The food was outstanding - seasonal, fresh, tasty- and the service was friendly and warm. Honestly, the prices are no higher than any other full service restaurant and there is a real chef in the kitchen. Don't forget about this excellent option in Davis for a delicious meal and dining experience.

   We had a wonderful Pre Fixe New Years Eve dinner at Osteria Fasulo. This was our first visit and we will return in the future. Our server Massimo was very attentive and helpful in introducing us to the dishes. The Northern Italian dishes were new to us and delicious. The Fungi salad was a taste-bud opening starter. We had two pasta dishes - the ravioli filled with taleggio cheese was slightly sweetened with pomegranate butter, and the agnolotti was filled with a savory mix of vegetables and ricotta topped with a veggie-glaze. Fabulous. Hopefully the traditional Cotechino (a soft sausage) and lentil dish will bring us luck this year. The medium rare rack of lamb with a pistachio sauce and the halibut with roasted fennel in a saffron broth were well prepared and very good. For us the olives in the saffron broth hid some of the flavor of the broth. But the halibut alone was still flavorful. We choose the Panna Cotta and Crespelle (crepes) for dessert. Both were light and delicious. We ended with an airy Merrengue with strawberry sauce. It was a delightful dinner and we headed home well satisfied.

   Absolutely wonderful meal. Great selection of dishes, well prepared and great ingredients. The beet salad was fantastic. Has simple gnocchi with truffle butter and it was perfectly made. Many other great dishes at our table. Desserts also fantastic and good wine list. Frankly, best restaurant in Davis.

    Lovely special event location for my son's 21st birthday! Patricia's service was personable and attentive. The food was utterly delicious. Everything about the dinner was perfect. Thank you!
