Known by generations for her hospitality, proprietress Elouise Adams Jones, a.k.a. Ouisie, serves an eclectic collection of Southern foods with an excellent wine list to match. High ceilings and fans in the main dining room it evoke the ambiance of a Texas manor house. The adjacent dining porch overlooking the patio and garden, as well as Cooper’s Wine Bin, provide additional dining and entertaining areas. The daily fare encompasses traditional offerings like her well-loved pimento cheese, the shrimp and grits, and the popular Gulf Coast oysters to the favorite Tuesday special Ouisie’s award winning chicken fried steak with corn pudding. A fine plate of grilled Prime beef tenderloin or a brace of quail stuffed with super lump crab meat with Cognac glaze are good examples of the daily specials one might find on the blackboard.

    Ouisie’s Table is a favorite restaurant of ours to dine at during the holiday season. We love the atmosphere. We had a 8:30 pm reservation on New Year’s Eve. We were seated in the small dining room probably do to the large number of customers and an additional private party that night. We had cocktails, the brandied oysters and crab cake appetizers and the snapper and swordfish entrees. They were all delicious.

    New Years Eve. We were seated in a storage room. They ran out of rose sparkling wine before 7pm! Food was decent, and service was very good.

    We had a large party of 9 and they seated us at a round table as requested. Everyone was pleased with their food and the service was excellent! We stayed a little later than expected and the entire staff was very patient with our group on a Sunday night. This is one of my favorite Houston restaurants!

    Ouisie's Table is always a classy spot for dining. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Very good service. Food is not highly seasoned. Good Bloody Mary!

    Muy buena experiencia. Independientemente de la comida que tiene muy buen nivel. La atención de Alan, nuestro mesero, fue excepcional siempre amable y atento. El lugar destaca por ser sobrio con unos espejos muy bonitos y llamativos. Definitivamente es un lugar al que regresaría gustoso. PD: tienen una variedad de vinos espectacular
