    Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, introduced afternoon Tea in England in year 1840. Lunch had become a “skimpier” meal, so of course, the Duchess would become very hungry around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, far from when dinner was served around 8 o’ clock in the evening. The Duchess found taking an afternoon snack to be such perfect refreshment that she soon began inviting her friends to join her. She found a light meal of tea (usually Darjeeling) and cakes or sandwiches was the perfect balance. There are no rules to the spread of food, but the standard for Afternoon Tea comprises a layer of sandwiches, a layer of cakes and a layer of scones or tea cakes.

    We took our two grown children for brunch, and they loved it. The cocktails were fresh and thoughtful. The food was delicious as well. We started with the sourdough cinnamon roll and the Brussell sprouts. For our main course we enjoyed the chicken sandwich, steak and eggs, and breakfast tacos. The avocado creme on the breakfast tacos was amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful as well. We were seated in the artium that provided beautiful sunshine into the room. We will definitely be back!!!

    Loved the grits. My son enjoyed his club sandwich. My daughter did not like her chicken burger. The fries were great. The teas were delicious. Our server, Joel was excellent.

    Delicious brunch, I love the avocado toast and the pink Paloma. The smoke salmon dip was great! I recommend this place it's memorable.

    Seasonal salad was not nearly as good as it was last year. Meal felt rushed and food was subpar sadly. Have come here many times and was disappointed this time

    Gorgeous place love the concept of a bookshop, home shop and restaurant - lovely look and feel! Restaurant is beautiful with good food and good service. Very special place.
