Paoli Schoolhouse American Bistro is located on the banks of the Sugar River in Paoli, WI. The Schoolhouse was built in 1864 and was converted into a restaurant in 2008. We pride ourselves in supporting local vendors and ingredients to bring you the best quality dishes.

Enjoy a meal in our beautiful bistro or on the deck/patio as weather permits. We have a great selection of wine, cocktails, and carry a variety of domestic and craft beers.

The Schoolhouse is also a great venue for small events - micro weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, baby showers, and any other celebrations!

The service here is excellent, it really adds to the amazing food. Multiple dining areas and outdoor seating so if you come multiple times things will always be a bit different from the last.

Our server was very friendly and welcoming with just the right amount of attention. We had lamb meatballs for a starter and they were delicious. Halibut was a special and it was almost too much. The chocolate grits with raspberry was a unique treat. Will come back. Close enough to Madison. If only that’s where we lived!

The Schoolhouse is perfect- service is attentive with being pretentious, food presentation, quality and flavors are exceptional and by some miracle few enough people know about it to allow immediate seating. The little burg of Paoli is incredibly fortunate to have this treasure of a restaurant.

Amazing dining experience. Our Chilean Sea Bass and Beef Wellington were excellent and our server was first class all the way. We appreciated his knowledge, recommendations and sense of humor. Incredible dining experience with live music. Don’t skip dessert. The flourless chocolate cake was the perfect way to top off our meal. Thanks for sharing your culinary talents and service. We will be back!!
