Located in a historic corner building at 268 Park Street, Park Street Pasta & Wine is South Melbourne’s friendly neighbourhood pasta and wine bar from Italian Restaurateurs Luca Balbo, Lino Torre & Matteo Balbo combining their passion for food and experience in the hospitality industry.

Head chef Tommaso Bartoli whips up a creative menu that heavily draws on his Tuscan roots. Starting his career in the kitchens of Florence, he brings to Australia all the knowledge and passion for food that define with his personal style.

All our pasta is handmade in-house in the traditional ‘fatta a mano’ style. Our menu features inventive sharing plates, classic pasta dishes that nod to various parts of Italy, plus a few modern iterations, all reflective of seasonal quality produce. with a tidy selection of Italian, international and local wines to match.

We are located at 268 Park Street on the Corner of Park Street and Perrins St, just down from the iconic South Melbourne Town Hall.

We dined for Mother’s Day. The glass of prosecco for Mother’s Day was lovely. However our food was cold and prawns undercooked. Won’t go again.

Had a beautiful lunch at Park Street Pasta on Tuesday, and it was pleasantly busy. Always a good sign! We started with the crocchette, which were absolutely to die for, and the zucchini roll, which was delicious. For mains, we had the ravioli and linguine — both were outstanding and perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and attentive, and the wine selection on point. Thank you boys, we’ll definitely be back!

Pasta could just right. Excellent service. Acoustics somehow need adjusting as noise travelled, which was the only negative. Visit again.

The place has a lovely vibe, gorgeous sage green walls lined with bottles of wine & a charming fireplace by the bar. However food was lacking compared to when I dined here previously in 2022 during my last trip to Melbourne. Back then, the pastas were rich & generous. Now, they lack in sauce and flavour. We had a lamb ragu rigatoni with very little lamb or ragu/sauce. And the king prawn spaghetti was very plain, a miss in terms of flavour profile. The tiramisu however, was delicious. Perhaps, the main reason why I will choose not to visit again though, is the service. The waitress lacked warmth and felt abrupt/rude. I’d had fond memories of my first visit but unfortunately, my second visit did not feel the same.

What a gem of a place, the food was delicious, and the waiter kindly recommended pairing of wines with the new food menu. Service was friendly, definitely worth another visit when I am in town.

Slow service, had to ask to take a drink order. Starters were great but mains underwhelming. A shame as our second visit and first time was great.
