The Scallop and herring starters were outrageous value for money. I’m actually surprised somewhat that the chef sent them out they were so small. The sausage starter was much better. Main courses were ok but the starters spoilt the experience. Still a good place to stay but will probably give the restaurant a miss for dinner next time we come.

I took a friend visiting from abroad to afternoon tea at Parker’s Tavern to celebrate a special occasion and was very disappointed. The hotel no longer serves tea in the lovely, beautifully appointed and comfortable bar and library. Instead it was served on small tables with uncomfortable seating and so-so views in a loud and crowded feeling dining room. Our server was lovely and my friend’s tea was tasty. However, the gluten free tea was nearly inedible. The scones were like tiny hockey pucks, the madeleine was tough, the pastry cups were like rocks. And the sandwich bread was tasteless. The only tasty thing in the tea was the chocolate mousse. I left most of the afternoon tea uneaten, which is absolutely unheard of for me. This was a very different experience from when I went last May for a family event and we had a wonderful experience. The wait staff explained that there is new management. I would strongly recommend finding somewhere else to have afternoon tea if you are looking for a relaxed and comfortable setting or anyone in your party is gluten free.

The decor and amience of Parkers is great but sadly the food has gone downhill dramatically over the last few years. Overcooked starter, burnt sausages for main and the pudding too big. This was from the set menu which obviously doesnt reap the same financial reward for the restaurant. I really hope that they don't serve a lower quality offering from this menu but each course was dissapointing. Such a shame as everything else about this restaurant/bar is great.

Increased waiting time to be served, eating a Parker's Tavern a number of times and sadly very disappointed with this visit. All our food was under seasoned, the Bubble and Squeak main was so rich it was sickly and I could not eat it. Has changed dramatically since Tristan Welch left.

The menu has a good variety, and the quality of the food when it arrived was excellent. The service was very good, although our side salad was forgotten (but not queries on the invoice when pointed out). The desserts were amazing - we had Baked Alaska, Cambridge Burnt Cream and Basque Cheesecake, and they were all exceptional. Perhaps a little on the expensive side, but it is Cambridge...

Food is very good although consider it slightly overpriced. Wine is very overpriced but then the clientele may be happy to pay the prices. The service was spot on and waitress was friendly and tried her best to please us throughout. It can be noisy due to the nature of the room so talking can be difficult. Our visit was for a 60th birthday celebration and as a one off event it is a worthwhile venue.
