Another wonderful experience at Paul Martin's, this time for brunch. This was our first brunch visit, and we met some friends for a holiday celebration. The food was delicious, and a great value for the quantity and quality. Some of the best service in Austin.

$45 for a small 6 ounce piece of halibut is very disappointing. Service was good.

Red snapper was delicious. Waitress was attentive. Table next to us was loud. Food price was more than I expected.

Hi, Sharon! Thanks for taking a moment to leave some feedback. I apologize about the loud table, this can happen from time to time and get tricky trying to please everyone balancing the hospitality piece. I am pleased to hear everything else was great! Thanks, again and we hope to see you soon! Take care. -Kris

The waiter did make a mistake on one of our orders but they were very nice to help provide an alternative solution after they realized the mistake. It was a little more noisy than expected, but the ambience was nice. It was our anniversary celebration and they gave us a complimentary slice of cake with champagne, which was a nice touch! I definitely enjoyed the food and the overall experience, and will return here in the future.

I went to celebrate my birthday, per the reservation. No one acknowledged it. When I asked about "birthday cake" for dessert, I was handed a menu. The food was small (fish) but good and I got a togo lemonade. It was so loud, I couldn't have a convo in the booth seat that was miles from the actual table. No birthday hoorah at all.
    Paul Martin's - AustinResponded 4 days ago
Hi, Cindy. Hate to admit it, but it sounds like we dropped the ball on your birthday celebrations. I apologize for that. As for the noise, the acoustics are not great in here and it can get loud when we are busy. Frustrations heard. Although your birthday has come and gone, please allow us the opportunity to show you we actually love to celebrate birthdays and make that one up to you before next year! I appreciate you taking the time to write in and look forward to hearing from you. Happy holidays! Thanks, Kris.

When we first sat down at our table, we waited 15 minutes and no one walked over to greet us or take our drink order. My husband had to call over another server to ask for help. The manager came over and blamed the hostess for the delay which I found to be tacky. He should have taken responsibility instead of blaming her. He did comp our cocktails which was a very nice gesture to make up for it. We ordered an appetizer (spinach artichoke dip) which was good and we enjoyed that. We then ordered our dinner. I ordered Steak Frites cooked meduim and my husband ordered the herb crusted ribeye medium rare. When my steak was brought out, it was very over-cooked, so much so that the server should have noticed it and taken it away. My husband's steak was cooked correctly but extremely over-seasoned. We like seasoning on our steak, but this was like a pile of seasoning in our mouth. I did not want to complain about my steak after already complaining about the long wait at the beginning because our server had already come over to appologize about 5 times about the wait so it would have been very awkward to have to complain yet again, but as a server at a restaurant of this caliber, he should have taken it upon himself to see how overcooked my steak was. It was steak frites so it is served to you already sliced so he could see it had zero pink inside of it. I would never return and would tell anyone who asked that it is absolutely not worth the money to eat there.

Good evening Kelli, Thanks for reaching out and being so detailed with your feedback. Clearly there are opportunities here and things that could have been done differently and I apologize for that. We would have loved to address the steak while you were in the building and one should not feel any type of way in an attempt to remedy an issue. With that said, we cannot change what has transpired but we can do our best to be better next time. We would love the opportunity to show you it is in fact worth the money and you can come to Paul Martin's for great food and service. Thanks again for your feedback and I look forward to hearing from you. -Kris
