   I was expecting so much more. As a frequent diner of 1618, my hopes were high. Attempts were made but the flavor of the dishes was just not there. The Tropical Asian drink was well done and the French fries tasty. We had the spring rolls as an appetizer and regretted doing so. Bland a wet but relatively tasteless without the peanut sauce. As an entree, I had the lamb chops which were perfectly medium as requested, but had absolutely no flavor to mention. The chimichurri sauce which I thought would help, was also a flavorless miss. I asked for an additional sauce (Thai) and that did help. My husband had the grilled pork vermicelli bowl and thankfully the pork was every bit as flavorful as we have had it at 1618. So that was a relief. The servers were nice but in need of practice. There is a slim chance that I would visit again, months from now, in hopes that they will have gotten it together, because the decor is nice and it’s a concept that should work, so let’s hope it does!

   We went to the soft opening and tried a variety of things on the menu. There are a lot of great options. I think the fusion between these two restaurants will make for a great place.

   Really good Valentine’s Day experience. They had an electric violinist playing, roses on the tables and heart balloons all over. Very impressive. We love 1618 on Riverside so it was a treat to try a new addition to their restaurant collection. Solid food - the egg rolls and pork Vietnamese bowl were to die for. Service was a bit slow, but friend and good recommendations. There were a few dim sums which disagreed with my preference on texture, but still good flavor. Overall it was a great time and the perfect vday!
