Canton Kitchen is Bankstown Sports' finest showcase of traditional and modern Cantonese fare.

This brilliant, new concept is a labour of love by kitchen powerhouse Jason Chan who has gained his culinary experience by working with the best in the industry. Canton Kitchen is the vibrant coming together of a carefully thought and planned journey to produce an enticing menu of both traditional and modern sharing dishes.

Jason's extensive cheffing background stems from a string of hatted and market leading Sydney venues including Merivale's Queen Chow, Andrew McConnell's Supernormal in Melbourne and China Diner in Bondi. He is Chinese restaurant industry blue blood, starting his journey at his parent's popular eatery as a child and is now a sifu (master) in his own right, by injecting his clever twists and modern flare into Cantonese favourites, that will take you back to your own childhood.

    We booked a table for nine guests on a Sunday at 6.30pm. The person who took the food order was very blunt, unhappy to take the order, apparently he was the manager/owner. When we asked for extra plates, other staff rolled her eyes. The same manager told us they only have 2 staff that night so we have to be patient, apparently it was our fault. The food was expensive, only one course for Peking duck but the cost was the same as for 2 courses that they sold previously in the same place. We ordered a mixed BBQ meat platter, in which the sausages were off, other meats tasted like rubber, they probably had it for a long time. Our family came to this place many times previously when it was managed by the previous owner. It changed hand now, and it is sad to see they trashing the place. We took our friends there this time and really feel embarrassed with them. The food is awful, the price is very expensive and service is bad. It came from the manager who is unfriendly, arrogant and not welcoming at all.

    Very disappointed. I allowed 1 1/2 hours for dinner and thought this would be ok but No. we were over 1 hour to get a drink?? One Beer, bottle of white wine and 1 Leominster lime bitters?? Not difficult?? Then after that we got the food arriving with 20 mins before we needed to leave for a concert? It was not peaceful at all very noisy with table near by screaming . We cancelled the rice dish as it hadn’t come with the hot main dishes?? Overall very disappointed and rushing last minute to concert.

    The food was phenomenal, the service was extremely poor. We spent over $400 for a table of 4, ordering the Scallops, Kingfish Sashimi, Chinese Broccoli, Cheeseburger Springrolls, Dim sum, Pork belly, Duck pancakes and fried whole fish, with beer and cocktails. Every single dish tasted amazing, a fusion of Asian and modern flavours and perfect servings. However when you pay $400, you would expect to be served or at least acknowledged. It took 30 minutes before someone took our order, and we needed to wave someone down, who said she wasn’t our waitress and passed the job to someone else. When food came out, each waiter/waitress just dropped the food on the table without eye contact so it was so hard even just to ask for our water glasses to be filled (we received table water after 1 hour since sitting down). We gave up on asking anything from any waiters because the service was just so bad. We could have walked out without noticing because that’s how busy it was. It’s a shame because the chefs deserved a tip, but the service was shocking

    Overall fantastic, only disappointment was the wagyu dish, you can taste the meaty flavour, have had this dish a few times and the first time I have tasted? maybe wash the meat with cold water after removing from cryovac packaging?

    Had my birthday dinner here. They set us up in a more private area, which was very nice. Our waitress was lovely and extremely polite. The food was delicious and mocktails/cocktails were great! Highly recommend.

    The service was almost non existent, we had to continuously call someone over to serv us and the food was absolutely disgusting. We will not be going back.
