   First time since ownership change. Been there at least 10 times before but never again. Service was beyond slow — over an hour between appetizer and entree. Guests at others tables commiserating with each other. Dinner conversations stopped throughout dining room as everyone lost their appetites. Our waitress was very empathetic. Is it an excuse to say it was Valentine’s Day ? On the one hand yes, but on the other it should have been easy to predict it would be busy and to staff up for the night. What was most annoying was that the new owner was oblivious to it all, walking around smiling and thanking everyone for coming. Not once was any of the guests offered a drink or an apology. We were collectively disappointed. Salads were limp with just barely a hint of the required goat cheese. Salmon was very good. No offer of complimentary desert to make amends. Owner was MIA at this point. Valentine’s Day dinner was ruined for many tables. Insult to injury was the ladies were not offered a rose like all other high end restaurants do. Poor show.

   Although this is one of my favorite restaurants and have always had a good meal, Friday night was disappointing. We were delivered incorrect meals, one was a strip steak which should have been a fillet. No mashed potatoes with my strip steak which tasted like it was sour vide but never really seared and thus rather bland I understand it was a busy night and the service was not at its usual standards. Based on previous visits i will give the restaurant a pass and will return.

   This was a Valentine’s Day dinner. I didn’t appreciate the valet parking. They never had it before and I hope this was just due to the holiday. Food is always high quality with generous portions. The table behind us was so loud we could barely talk. We were put in a front corner table with a limited view. This just wasn’t the ambiance I was looking for on Valentine’s Day. Service was good but not the high level we are used to at the Pelican Cafe. We still had a good time and plan on going back.

   This place is an OMG! We’ve been here numerous times and we’ve always loved the experience. First time since 2023 (we’re out-of-towners). Alex, new owner since July 2024, is a charmer. He has customer experience top of the list. Service here comes with a fist bump. Today, we were fortunate to get Dina again. She’s the best! Bartender and server on a crowded day. Ask for Dina. The food at Pelican Cafe is uniformly great. After Dina served up martinis with booze at the rim, we had brunch. My wife had a classic eggs Benedict, which she loved. I had a very good Caesar salad that was topped with the ultimate blackened chicken. Yes, the best blackened anything in memory. Pelican has an intimate feel, an everyone-is-family experience, with topnotch bar and food service and a sharp kitchen. It’s definitely the best Sunday brunch restaurant in the Palm Beach area.    Fabulous place for lunch or dinner right on Route 1 in Lake Park. Food is consistently excellent with great service and a nice wine list. The option for inside or outside dining offers flexibility for guests. Enjoy.

   I’ve had better experiences at PC in the past Waiter took forever to take our drink order and only saw him once after he took our food order. The wait staff did a much better job at service. Food was fair, vegetables were piled together on a small plate, not very attractive Probably would not return!
