Virtually everything about Phoenecia is great. Phoenicia is pitch perfect for a small-ish sized, great food, nice variety of options (not too many to be overwhelming), terrific friendly service, and I'm reasonably sure it's a family owned and operated business which you just gotta love. Mid-range prices completely validated by the quality of the food. Unless you're looking for a big, booming place with hundreds of people - this is one of your best options for restaurants in Seattle. I will say the staff is almost intimidatingly attractive though, casual-chic at it's very best. I check myself before walking out the front door to make sure I'm not too much a mess. And, be assured, for as lovely looking as they are, they're even more gracious and fun.

We were given a Xmas gift certificate to Phoenecia and decided to celebrate our anniversary here. Arriving on a cold, wet, dark evening, we were immediately greeted and seated by Sonya. She was attentive and friendly all night, suggesting menu items she thought we would enjoy. The main specialities for the evening are written on a wall-size chalkboard, besides the main menu items available all the time - small plates, salads, pizzas and desserts. They only serve beer and wine and the choices are many. Unfortunately for us, the main protein offered that particular evening was lamb, which neither of us eat. We ordered half a dozen small plates including '39 Spice Beef', Trio of Spreads, flatiron steak, caprese salad, Charcuterie and Cheese Plates. My husband was eyeing the special of farfalle/lamb and asked if he could substitute chicken. The chef was very accommodating and created a dish for him using chicken in a cream/sherry/tarragon sauce. SO good! The attention to detail on each dish was an art - beautifully presented. The only dish we didn't care for was the Flatiron steak - too rare and chewy for our taste, yet still flavorful. Menu is on the pricey end and we quickly used the $100 G.C. Another highlight was on Tuesdays they give 10% of all proceeds to the charity of the month - give and give-back. Nice! Plus, they also have take-out and catering. Would we be back - probably if we were in the area, but it is a long way from south Bellevue during rush hour and pouring rain with construction going on. It does seem to cater to a younger population - 20 to 40's - which benefits the local area greatly.

We have eaten here many times because the food is outstanding. The service has always been slow but the food was worth the wait. On New Year's Eve they crammed the place with tables and too many customers at one time. People had to move away from their tables to allow other patrons to get to and from their tables. Food was being served over other customers heads and you were so close to each other that you felt as if it were an intimate dinner for 75! I'm sure they were breaking fire codes! The food however is outstanding! I would just never go back on a holiday.

Phoenicia is a neighborhood spot. We have been dining here for 20 years and the food doesn't disappoint. The best pizza in Seattle. The dough is proofed for 3 days. Other offerings are outstanding as well. Good wines by the glass. The owner and her daughters are so warm and make you welcome every time you dine.

We've been to Phoenecia many times for both casual dinners with our children (12 and 14) and with work colleagues, including the chairman of my company's board of directors, and I've enjoyed every time thoroughly. All of the dishes are beautifully-presented, with sophisticated combinations of flavors, yet manage to avoid being intimidating to young palates, or pretentious in any way. Similarly, there is always music playing which is interesting, but not intrusive. The space itself is full of warm textures of brick and wood, tastefully accented with strings of white holiday lights, and topped-off with a broad view of Puget Sound. The staff is warm and knowledgable, whether one is being served by the proprietor, her adult children, or personnel outside the family. Phoenecia is one of our favorite restaurants to introduce to visitors and recent arrivals to the Seattle area.

It's a local gem indeed. Owners and staff have always been friendly and helpful. It's a small-ish menu but everything is very tasty. One of the better dining locations in WS.

Dinner was very good. Service was admirable, BUT music was way too loud. It was difficult to hear my dinner companion who was sitting just a foot or so in front of me. I would either not go back or would ask the help to turn down the music if I go again.

Phoenecia is a small restaurant right on Alki but the food is fabulous (both the fig pizza and the lamb shank are out of this world!) and the service is excellent. Appetizers are a lot of fun, too. If you're ever on Alki around dinnertime you HAVE to check it out! We even held my son's rehearsal dinner there (reserved the whole restaurant) and everyone raved about it!
