At Pincette- Lobster Bar, transport yourselves to a chic lobster shack in the East Coast of Canada.     I had the sea bass and my husband had the capellini with mushrooms and truffles. Absolutely incredible. Wait staff and manager were very attentive. Quaint restaurant.

    Forgot to bring a few things we ordered. Must ask for bread, not offered. Ran out of ingredients for signature cocktails. The Mussles dish was misleadingly described as a casserole.

    Menu du nouvel an ultra décevant: portion ridicule pour le prix. Nous pensions avoir eu les amuse bouche affichés au menu alors qu’il s’agissait du premier et deuxième service! Et que dire du service… notre serveur était froid et confus toute la soirée.

    We made a reservation based on published positive reviews for the evening of December 30 as we were spending a few days around New Year's eve in Montreal. And boy, those reviews were right! The restaurant is smallish but has sister restaurant adjacent to it, all part of the Auberge du Vieux Port hotel. We shared two appetizers, the seared scallops and the grilled octopus, followed by a main dish, the losbter and clams cassolette. All three seafood dishes were excellent but the top spot belongs to the seared scallops which were served with roasted parsnips, Brussels sprouts petals, saffron panacotta and black mullet caviar. The chef cooked the scallops perfectly (cooked but very tender) and the overall dish was superb. With dinner, we had a bottle of Bordeaux (entre deux-mers, so very refreshing and not very expensive). After dinner, we shared a chocolate dish and a glass of cognac. And to top all that, our young waiter Michael was every informative and attentive. This restaurant, which is located in the old town, is a necessary stop for those who like seafood.
