    We tried the new ceviche. Fabulous! It was tasty and delicate and made with fresh coconut water. We then shared the crudo. Also, delicious. We each had the catch of the day, black seabass. It was great. I took some home and just had it with an arugula salad. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about our meal.

    What a treat Ponto Lago is!!! This place is so memorable for its extraordinary flavors that we came back twice in a month. The bespoke menu curated by The Passionate Chef surprises in its brights tastes and unique pairings.The restaurant is gorgeous with a world-class view but you can’t take your eyes off the glistening open kitchen where a dozen staff orchestrate preparation and execution of your meal under focused lights around shiny grills and elegant prep zones. It is artful. The meals are amazing — fishes & meats roasted over embers w/dimension sauces & inspired tastes that excite. We wanted to try everything so we ordered a variety to share. It was a beautiful night and each experience brings us back for more. Dessert can’t be missed either. You’ll never forget this unique gem and its quality food. We’ll be back!

    Ponto Lago is criminally underrated. I’m honestly surprised they’re not Michelin rated. At the very least they should be on Guide. Chef Benji does an amazing job bringing various Latin American flavors and aromas to their dishes, while incorporating modern fusion flare to their dishes. First, their Arepas are to die for. Very simple starter that is so addicting. The Pulpo inspired appetizer also has very nice attention to detail, down to the visuals of the dish. Finally, their wood fire grill does wonder in incorporating just the right amount of smoke flavor to their dishes. My wife is usually very sensitive to smoke smell/flavor but she absolutely loved the smoke incorporated into the chicken + mole dish. Their new experimental scallop dish was such a hit as well. Alejandro, our waiter was also so attentive to us, making our night such a wonderful date night. Finally, the price for their quality is unbelievable. I have a feeling they’ll be getting rated highly on some list some time soon so my rec is to try and get a reso before it becomes harder to book

    The food was delicious, but the service was truly the standout of the night. It was truly a pleasure to have Alejandro as our server, who guided us through the menu with amazing insight and recommendations! Our favorites were the chicken with mole, arepas, octopus, and tuna crudo. It was an elevated dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere at a reasonable price point. This restaurant is worth a visit.

    We had an amazing time. From the valet to the wait staff at Ponto Lago made us feel welcome and special. Alejandro and his wait partner from Ponto Lago treated our Mom with respect and care. We celebrated her 86th birthday with the family and it did not disappoint. Thank you.

    Unfortunately, this was a let down. Menu was prefixed for valentine's day and the first two courses (appetizers) were literally just two hockey pucks. My wife and I thought we were being pranked. My steak was supposed to be medium and was definitely bleeding in the middle.. Desert was... weird. They added spices to it, which made it not a desert... We got a different one from door dash later. I hope others had a better experience

    Don't go. We went to valentine's special dinner. We sat down and waited 30 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. That took 15 minutes to get. Food order for entrees taken then. It was an hour before even the bread came. Some of food was good but for $500.00 with drinks, avoid this place.

    This restaurant is located in the Hyatt Aviara hotel, beautiful restaurant, the service by Tyler was great. The food had a nice presentation and very good taste. Unfortunately the times were off, our first course started by the second one listed on the fixed menu and the first starter was our last. We had a reservation at 6:30 the food started arriving around 30-35 minutes after we were seated. Every course had at least a 15 minutes between each one. Then the sharable sides came for the main course but the main course took over 20 minutes to get to our table, we saw it was on the counter for that amount of time, off course when it came at 8:20 it was cold, so we sent it back. A do appreciate that they gave us a small appetizer while we waited for them to reheat the new york steak. But to much time in between each small plate.
