Pony’s executive chef and team are the masters of the wood fire grill, producing contemporary and modern Australian dishes of the season’s freshest produce since its opening in 2006.

In an open kitchen where Exec Chef Neil Nolan enjoys a chat with our guests, the Argentinian grill fuelled by iron bark takes dominance with the menu created around this masterpiece.

Disappointed to say the least Waited over hr for mains Rib eye tasted burnt Pork was dry We were compensated by free desert which we were grateful however i much prefer a good meal than a free desert. Sad to say but i would not recommend.

Valentines Day set menu had outstanding choices if it was a bit pricey. The service was attentive and we were served quickly. Nice atmosphere. All 6 of us enjoyed our meals!

The food is rather expensive, so you would expect perfection. Nothing wrong with the food, it tasted good, but the service…. As a waitress you don’t lean over your costumers to serve, or take away empty plates. There was room enough to go around. We orded 2 glass of red wine to go with the meat. It was forgotten. After a reminder the waitress came with 2 glasses. I would have expected her to present the wine in the bottle and let us have a taste…. but no, the wine was served in the glass with no information at all. The desserts were amazing - but took a long time after ordering before it got served (and not many guests left in the restaurant)

Pony was recommended to us but we were disappointed overall. The place was ‘buzzing ‘and the staff were very polite but service was quite slow at times . The food was served quickly but we were left with dirty dishes for too long. The food was good but not outstanding. Our steak was nicely cooked ( med rare) but was luke warm. The fries were overly crisp and quite dry. We did make some comments at the restaurant and were asked what they could do to make it better but by that time we were done. Personally, we would not return. Sorry.

This restaurant is in a fantastic location, right in the Rocks area, and we had an easy walk to the Opera House after a meal. Really enjoyed the sirloin steak - highest quality and cooked perfectly as requested. Excellent and varied wine list - really enjoyed the Argentinian malbec, which suited the grilled meat.
