   We go to the Porthminster cafe around times a year travelling from Paignton using the railway as a, relaxing day out and the restaurant has never disappointed. We had the set lunch menu costing £34 each. I had the Smoked baked Haddock for starters and the Turbot with Sampfire for mains whilst my Wife had Asian Crispy Beef with Hand Rolled Riccotta for Mains and we both had A Chocolate Brownie with Pink Peppercorns for Dessert. What totally, As always, Made the meal was the excellent service and the stunning views of the beach. Cant wait to rett

   My partner and I had lunch on Friday 14th February. The online booking process had been very easy. On arrival the staff were polite and efficient in seatings us and through your visit they had the perfect balance of attentiveness with great personalities all round. We had a starter and main course, both of which were incredibly tasty. All in all a perfect experience.

   Exceptional food, equally good service, and fabulous wine choice. Although I was travelling for work and dining alone, i will be making the effort to return with my Family.

   We’ve eaten here several times previously and we’ve always enjoyed exceptional food. To celebrate new year, we chose starters of lobster linguine and smoked haddock. They were superb. We had the following main courses: moules et frites, pork belly and seafood curry. They were mostly good, though I was disappointed with my pork belly which wasn’t at all crispy and consisted mostly of fat. There was hardly any meat. I would still come back, but given the price tag I’d hope this was an exception. The service was excellent as was the ambience and the location couldn’t be better.

   We booked a table for New Year’s Eve and were told that the restaurant was fully booked and that we could watch the fireworks at 12 as it was NYE. There wasn’t any atmosphere and restaurant was almost empty by 11pm. Food wasn’t great, menu limited especially for vegetarians, one main we had to send back and both fish dishes were under cooked so hard to dissect the bones. Overall poor experience and very expensive for the quality and experience we had. It Maybe different when it’s not NYE but we won’t be back to try. Thanks to our waitress though, she was great.

    Fantastic New Years Eve dinner. Staff were excellent and efficient, so friendly and accommodating. We stayed to watch the New Year fireworks with a cocktail in hand. Perfect start to the new year. Would highly recommend. Thank you
