A steakhouse: city vibe, local heart. Our menu is hand selected to feature locally and ethically sourced ingredients. Our head chef and owner Jason Carron has revolutionized the New England restaurant community for two decades. With his acute attention to detail, Carron has helped struggling restaurants find their purpose and passion, restoring their place in the industry. Having given hope to hundreds of restaurants over the years, Carron is opening his first steakhouse this spring, bringing that same level of attention to his own restaurant. Every ingredient is well thought out to innovate the plate with not only something aesthetically pleasing, but more importantly delicious. His farm to table approach, ensures the highest level of ingredients go into every meal you enjoy.

Please note our dress code: No gym wear, hooded sweatshirts, shorts, or ball caps are to be worn. All men are strongly encouraged to have a collar. No tank tops. Jackets are not required.

We went in for Valentines Day dinner. Super packed, obviously the busiest night. Everything was run so smoothly. Food was just as delicious as it was on a non-holiday rush, which says a lot. Most restaurants crank out meals of sub-par quality on night like this. The restaurant gave roses to the women as well, classy touch. Certainly was a romantic place for a date night. We can’t wait to return.

It was Valentine’s Day so they had a set menu and I wasn’t aware it was not a great menu. It cost a complete fortune. It was not as delicious as it usually is. The only good part was the service by Sebastian. He’s an incredible server. He can’t do enough for you. The food wasn’t terrible, but it’s not the usual. It’s very good usually and very expensive and I don’t mind paying, but for this it was not worth it at all and I regret going. We also had to have the latest reservations, which were terrible. All in all, not a good experience.

Having dined at most of the fine dining and top steakhouse options around Boston, my wife and I are continually impressed with the quality of food and experience at Post 1917. This is undoubtedly one of our favorite restaurants and the location in the old Post Office adds a unique touch that also elevates the experience. We look forward to being frequent guests at Post 1917!!!

The food was average, I got a filet mignon for main meal, cheese bites which ended up being mini grilled cheeses, my husband got a beef something starter but told me it tasted like salami he got a ribeye steak which he said tasted fine and then we got desert which was chocolate cake which was very dry and tasted like it came from out of a cardboard box . I had a glass of Riesling wine which tasted good and my husband had a German beer which was decent. Overall the place was average. It was hard to find as they do not have a sign located outside and mentioned bc it’s in a historic building in Reading, MA they aren’t allowed to put a sign and you have to park on the street as they do not have parking lot for parking which was very inconvenient.

Lovely dinner. Sadly had run out of one of the specials. But not an issue. Lots of great alternatives on the menu.

A bustling restaurant with an attentive staff. Food was excellent! We even saved room for dessert since it was our first visit. Certainly won't be our last!

Steak was the best I’ve had. Mashed potato’s left a lot to be desired. Street parking only, awful.
