The place and ambience is outstanding. But very disappointed with the wine I ordered is not on the list. I ordered ROTH but I was served GROTH which is almost $100 a bottle and half price of the ROTH which is $62.The appetizer and salad were good but I gave one star because whoever is the chef that cooked the Prime Rib, I mean the seasoning is okay but was cooked in the oven at 325 degrees. I have been cooking Prime Rib all my life and I have never cooked it in this temperature. It should have been slow cooked at 200 degrees and you’ll achieve an outstanding taste, texture and flavor close to the House of Prime Rib.

Although I read good reviews, I was misled. You can only have your prime rib cooked medium rare and wasn't pleased with the sides that they served. Ordered a very expensive bottle of wine. Had to refill our glasses ourselves so the service wasn't spot on. It seemed like they only had one waitress working on seven to eight tables! I won't be going back!

Hi Dan, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very sorry to hear about your recent experience with us. While our prime rib is traditionally served medium rare to preserve quality and flavor, we understand preferences vary and are always happy to accommodate. We also apologize for the service lapse and understaffing you experienced — we will take this up with management. Your comments will also be shared with our team so we can make the necessary improvements. We hope you might consider giving us another try in the future.

Meat was not tender. Flavor wasn’t great. Save your money and go to House of Prime Rib in the city.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t live up to expectations. While we know everyone has different preferences, our team works hard to deliver consistently high-quality, slow-roasted prime rib—and it’s clear we missed the mark during your visit. We understand your frustration and appreciate you giving us a try. – Prime Rib at The Garden

Perfectly prepared prime rib done medium rare, accompanied by two "heat" levels of horseradish. Included salad (mixed green or Caesar) and sides (potato gratin or garlic mashed, creamed spinach or creamed corn) ameliorated the rather high prices. Solid wine list mostly from commonly known producers. Good service, sufficiently attentive without being intrusive. While the menu included a seafood tower of shellfish, "seasonal fish" our server did not mention during his guided tour of the menu, and a "chef's choice" vegetarian option, one dines here for the beef prime rib of varying weights. For dessert, the pear bread pudding (warm brioche vanilla bread pudding, served with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce) is excellent and apparently popular. The dining room is big and open but not loud as capacious spaces can be; I found it a pleasant environment. We enjoyed very good food in a pleasant environment and paid handsomely for it, perhaps best worthwhile for an occasion.

Your note on pricing is appreciated — we aim to deliver an experience worthy of a special occasion, and it’s great to hear that came through. Thank you again for joining us — we hope to welcome you back for another memorable evening soon. – Prime Rib at The Garden

Prime rib is great we ordered the presidential cut 14 oz thick cit and split it for two it was 5 stars in flavor and quality. The salad and side were included . House salad was terrific. However the two sides I chose were not good . Creamed spinach was TERRIBLE tasted more like burned oil . Mashed potato ok not great. Considering they charged us for meat split dinner with wine and bread was around $150 for two . Will I come back maybe? Needs better tasting sides maybe baked potato as a option?

Hello Annette, Thank you for dining with us and sharing your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the presidential cut and house salad — that means a lot. We're sorry the sides missed the mark and appreciate your honest input, especially the suggestion to add a baked potato option. We’ll pass your comments along to our team and hope to have the chance to welcome you back for an even better experience next time. – Prime Rib at The Garden

First visit and very good experience. Plan to return: 1. Waitress Caitlyn was delightful and helpful 2. Prime rib was excellent but creamed spinach was bit too spicy 3. Ambience was very nice 4. $12.50 surcharge to split a dinner was too high and we even so had to split our own salad as well as ask for extra plate for it

Retha, Thanks for the great and insightful review. We're happy you enjoyed the prime rib and our atmosphere — and we'll be sure to pass the praise to your waitress. We appreciate the feedback on the sides and split charge and will keep it in mind as we continue to improve. Hope to see you again soon! – Prime Rib at The Garden

We have wanted to try this place to see how it measures up to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. We actually think the prime rib is better. It was more flavorful and definitely more tender. I think it’s also slightly less expensive but not sure. The only thing that’s missing is the Yorkshire pudding. We also thought the sides were a little more tasty. The shrimp cocktail was definitely a treat as well. Lastly the two desserts we had were awesome (lava cake and bread pudding). Our service was great. Perfect on attentiveness. The place was definitely not crowded probably because not too many people have found it yet. They do have a couple of alternatives to prime rib but I would definitely say this is the place to go for prime rib in the East Bay. I don’t think we will bother to go back to San Francisco for prime rib in the future.

This place is great alternative to driving to the city for "Prime Rib", the food is awesome, the service is awesome, the ambiance is great. We got there on a night that had aa huge group of men visiting! So it was on the loud side. I highly recommend everyone who loves Prime Rib check it out!!!
